A method for the operation of a combine harvester includes processing a harvested material flow by at least one axial separator and ejecting a residual material flow formed in this way from the combine harvester by at least two ejection devices. The axial separator is formed by a movable vane element by means of which the residual material flow exiting from the axial separator is distributed on a work member downstream of the axial separator. In order to further improve the distribution of the residual material flow on the field, an actual distribution of the residual material flow on the two ejection devices is detected, wherein, when a deviation of the actual distribution from a predetermined reference distribution is detected, the vane element is readjusted so that the actual distribution is at least approximated to the reference distribution.

A separator arrangement has an inlet head housing, a feed drum and two axial separating rotors projecting by one end portionwise into the inlet head housing. The inlet head housing has planar inlet portions which extend over the width of the respective axial separating rotor and between which is arranged a ramp-shaped housing portion extending paraxial to the conveying direction of the axial separating rotors and which assists in dividing a harvested material flow into partial flows to be fed to the axial separating rotors. At least one separating element is associated with the ramp-shaped housing portion and has a base body which extends perpendicular to the surface of the housing portion and which has an end face formed as a cutting edge. A coating comprising a wear-resistant second material is arranged on the end face and extends substantially medially in the longitudinal direction of the end face.

An inlet head housing for an axial separating device includes a pair of separating rotors arranged parallel to one another having a first end protruding, in sections, into the inlet head housing. The inlet head housing also includes flat inlet sections extending along a width of each of the respective separating rotors and a ramp-shaped housing section having a substantially concave profile is arranged between the flat inlet sections. The housing section at least partially supports a separation of a crop flow into two partial flows to the separating rotors and a substantially blade-shaped separating element is arranged on the ramp-shaped housing section and extends substantially axially parallel thereto.

The display device has a display unit with jointly depictable display elements for visualization of parameter-based values, the display elements preferably arranged concentrically in a form of circular-ring sections. The display device also includes at least one bar display that at least partially encircles the display elements radially on the outer side. Indicator element for displaying a defined value are disposed on the at least one bar display.

A separating device formed with rotationally driven components and stationary components has at least one crop-treatment element for processing crop. The crop-treatment element extends transversely to the rotational direction (R) of the components, at least in sections. The crop-treatment element has a substantially cuboid cross-section and a front edge with a curved course optimized in terms of flow, and which faces a rotational direction (R) and away from a conveyance direction (FR) of the crop.

Separating device

A combine harvester operates with an axial separating device for separating a crop flow picked up by the combine harvester into a plurality of partial flows. A partial flow composed of grain and non-grain components is fed by a separation surface of the axial separating device to a cleaning unit disposed downstream. The axial separating device is configured to manipulate a local concentration gradient of the partial flow that is output by the axial separating device caused by a tilt of the combine harvester. The extent of the manipulation is controlled individually depending on the tilt of the combine harvester.

A threshing mechanism is formed with a first threshing drum and a second threshing drum disposed one behind the other in a direction of crop flow. A first concave encloses the first threshing drum and the second threshing drum in sections in a circumferential direction. A second concave encloses the second threshing drum in sections in the circumferential direction. The concaves are displaceable in a radial direction of the threshing drums and are formed with at least one crop-processing device disposed at the first concave. The first concave and the second concave are swivellable about a common axis connecting the concaves. The enclosure of the second threshing drum by the first concave and the second concave is approximately identical.

A combine harvester includes a separating device that extends in a longitudinal direction of the combine harvester. In front of the separating device, a tangentially disposed feed drum is installed. The feed drum is configured with substantially axially parallel guide plates on a circumference thereof. The substantially axially parallel guide plates bear against the jacket surface of the feed drum via support elements. The support elements extend between adjacent guide plates in the circumferential direction and, extend between the adjacent guide plates in the radial direction across an entire free jacket surface of the feed drum.

A flow of crops, which contains useful material and waste material, is separated in a crop machine into a useful material flow and a waste material flow, in which, respectively, the useful material or the waste material is concentrated. A first step separates the flow of crops with a first selectivity into a pre-cleaned flow, which contains a substantial portion of the useful material and a remaining portion of the waste material, and a first waste material flow, which contains a substantial portion of the waste material and a remaining portion of the useful material. A second step separates the pre-cleaned flow with a selectivity dependent on its flow rate into the useful material flow and a second waste material flow, which contains a substantial portion of waste material and a remaining portion of the useful material. A quantity combined from the amount of the useful material into the waste material flow is detected continuously, and the first selectivity is regulated based on this quantity, independently from the flow rate of the flow of crops (S, S).

Method and device for separating a flow of crops

A support wheel for an agricultural implement includes a support frame connected with an agricultural harvesting machine and its receiving device; and at least one support wheel connected with the support frame. In a preferred embodiment, the support frame includes first and second supporting arms. The second supporting arm is oriented in a generally vertical direction and is variable in length. In one arrangement, the second support is a lifting cylinder or a telescopic arm and is provided with a damping element. In another arrangement, the support wheel assembly includes at least one steerable support wheel that is pivoted on a pivot shaft by a steering cylinder. A preferred embodiment includes first and second steerable support wheels connected by a coupling mechanism and pivoted about first and second pivot shafts by a common steering cylinder. In yet another advantageous embodiment, the common steering cylinder is operatively coordinated with a steered axle of the agricultural harvesting machine through a control unit.

A support wheel assembly for use with the disclosed method includes a support wheel and a wheel lifting cylinder connecting the support wheel with the receiving device.
