A belt tensioner () for a generator belt drive of an internal combustion engine is provided. The belt tensioner includes a tensioning arm () with a tensioning roller () mounted thereon, and a tensioning spring which acts on the tensioning arm and is intended for pretensioning the belt () is designed for mounting onto the generator () and, in the mounted state of the belt drive, engages annularly around the belt pulley () of the generator and encompasses the belt in a plane which is spaced apart from the plane of the belt and runs on the far side of the belt plane with respect to the generator. The belt tensioner has an open ring-shaped construction, and therefore, in the mounted state of the belt tensioner on the generator, the belt can be mounted axially through the ring opening () in the belt tensioner onto the belt pulley of the generator.

A belt pulley arrangement for a belt drive to drive auxiliary units of a motor vehicle, having a belt pulley for introducing a torque that can be provided via a flexible drive means, an output shaft for driving an auxiliary unit, in particular a cooling water pump, and an electric machine for the transmission of torque between the belt pulley and the output shaft, wherein the electric machine has a rotor connected to the belt pulley and a stator connected to the output shaft. As a result of the power flow between the belt pulley and the output shaft, which can be influenced by the electric machine, it is not necessary to design the auxiliary unit that is attached via the output shaft for the least beneficial operating point, so that the auxiliary unit can be dimensioned smaller and a reduction in the installation space for motor vehicle components, in particular the installation space for auxiliary units of a motor vehicle that can be driven via the belt drive, is made possible.

A belt tensioner for a generator belt drive of an internal combustion engine, is provided having: &#x2014;an annular housing part which is secured on the generator housing so as to enclose the generator shaft, &#x2014;an annular tensioning part which is mounted on the housing part in a pivotal manner about the generator shaft, &#x2014;a single tension roller which is mounted on the tensioning part and pretensions the belt, &#x2014;and a spring which is clamped between the housing part and the tensioning part and which applies a torque to the tensioning part in order to generate the belt tension. The spring should be a bow spring which extends parallel to the belt plane (&#x3b5;) and circumferentially and completely outside of a pivoting range of the tension roller.

A clamping device () for a starter generator belt drive of an internal combustion engine. The clamping device includes a tensioner housing (), a tensioning arm () mounted movably therein, and two idlers (), one of which is mounted to the tensioning arm and the other of which is mounted to the tensioner housing () in a stationary manner. A spring component which generates the pre-load force includes two helical compression springs () connected in series, the facing spring ends () of which are separated by an intermediate piece () mounted in the tensioner housing in a sliding manner. The tensioning arm has a pin projection (), which extends through the helical compression springs running inside the tensioning arm and which is mounted in the intermediate piece in a sliding manner.

Secondary assembly drive of an internal combustion engine and method for operating same

A secondary assembly drive of an internal combustion engine and a method for operating same are provided. The secondary assembly drive includes: a first drive wheel () which can be rotatably connected to a crank shaft (CR) of the internal combustion engine, an electric machine which can be operated either as a generator (AL) of as a motor (M) and a second drive wheel () which can be rotatably connected to the electric machine (AL, M), an air-conditioning compressor (A/C) and a third drive wheel () which can be rotatably connected to the air-conditioning compressor, a traction element () which rotates infinitely and which wraps around the drive wheels, and an actuable clutch () for disconnecting the drive of the electric machine and of the air-conditioning compressor from the crankshaft when necessary. In addition, the air-conditioning compressor is designed for operation in both rotational directions, and a reversal of the rotational direction between the generator operating mode and the motor operating mode of the electric machine is provided.

A clamping device () of a traction mechanism drive, comprising a fixedly positioned base part (), with which a pivot arm () is associated. The pivot arm () can be pivoted via a rotary bearing, consisting of a hub (), a pin () of the base part () and a sliding bearing (). A spring means () inserted between the base part () and the pivot arm () exerts an expansion force and effects a non-positive support of a tensioning roller () that is connected to the pivot arm () on a traction mechanism. In order to damp adjusting movements of the pivot arm (), a damping device () is provided, which comprises two separate spring-loaded friction elements. For this purpose, a friction disk () is supported with form fit on the supporting disk () connected to the pin () of the base part () and with friction fit on the pivot arm (). The damping device () further comprises a friction ring (), which is fixed to the pivot arm () and is supported with friction fit on an inner wall () of the crucible-shaped base part () and which directly cooperates with the spring means ().

Tensioning device

A tensioning device () is provided for a starter generator drive belt of an internal combustion engine and a starter generator () equipped with such a tensioning device. It includes a tensioning housing () with two belt pulleys () and a bearing support () fastened at the machine housing () of the starter generator, on which the tensioning housing is pivotally supported via a friction bearing.

A hydraulic tensioning element for a traction mechanism drive having a cylinder, having an axially movable piston which is guided in the cylinder, a spring element which is arranged between the cylinder and the piston, a pressure space which is formed in the cylinder, and a reservoir, which is formed in the piston, for hydraulic fluid. A valve permits an exchange of the hydraulic fluid between the pressure space and the reservoir as a function of an actuating movement of the piston. The cylinder () has a flanged portion () which reduces a size of its opening, and a free end of the piston () has formed on it an annular section () with a diameter which is larger than the piston diameter.

Hydraulic tensioning element for a traction mechanism drive

A device for connecting a generator to a belt drive of an internal combustion engine is provided, which includes a belt pulley () that is guided so that it can rotate relative to a hub () set on a shaft (). At least one spring element is arranged between the belt pulley () and the hub () and connects the belt pulley () and the hub () to each other elastically for transferring rotational motion and here sets a relative rotation between the belt pulley () and the hub () corresponding to an effective torsional stiffness. The at least one spring element is placed with a defined movement play (s) with respect to the belt pulley () and/or the hub (), in order to allow relative rotation through the movement play (s) in a first region (I) with a low torsional stiffness, while, in a second region (), a high torsional stiffness can be generated by the at least one spring element.

Device for driving a generator by a belt drive of an internal combustion engine

A torque-transmission system with a decoupler () between a shaft () and a belt pulley () of a starter generator is provided. The belt pulley can rotate relative to the shaft (). For reducing rotary oscillations, the decoupler () includes a damping device arranged between the belt pulley () and the shaft () with at least one spring element (). The decoupler () includes an automatic locking device () that is dependent on a direction of rotation and that produces, at a low rotational speed level, a coupling between the belt pulley () and the shaft (), and this coupling automatically disconnects when a pre-determined rotational speed is reached.

Locking device for a start-stop operation of a starter generator

A clamping device with mechanical damping for a traction mechanism drive is provided. The device includes a clamping arm which carries a tension roller on one end thereof and is rotatably mounted in a housing at the other end thereof via a shaft connected thereto in a rotationally fixed manner, and is elastically supported on the housing by a torsion spring. A free end of the shaft is connected to a friction disk in a rotationally fixed manner, and a friction lining is arranged between the friction disk and an axial abutment surface of the housing. The invention reduces the friction lining wear and increases the damping capacity thereof. To accomplish this, a separate friction disk (&#x2033;&#x2033;) is connected to a separate friction lining (&#x2033;&#x2033;) in a positively locked manner without play, and the separate friction lining ((&#x2033;&#x2033;) is in frictional contact with the axial abutment surface () of the housing ().
