A bodywork frame for a motor vehicle, in particular a passenger car, has two lateral load bearing columns. The columns are supported on each other at a roof side via a pressure-stable cross member and at a floor side on a longitudinal tunnel and via pressure-stable seat cross members.

A protective arrangement on a motor vehicle shell wheel housing has a crumple zone, in particular a front crumple zone. Two longitudinal members extend in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and along the inside of the associated lateral wheel housing. A wheel is held by wheel guide members within the assigned wheel housing. A front wall limits the wheel housing on its side remote from the crumple zone, relative to the passenger compartment. Protection against excessive penetration of the front wall by the wheel moving towards the front wall in the event of a crash is arranged between the tread circumference of the wheel and the front wall. A tension strut with a fixing section is fixed to the associated longitudinal member as the protection of the front wall against excessive penetration and has a lateral intercepting section which projects outwards laterally and transversely to the longitudinal member.

An outside mirror for motor vehicles employs an electromotive drive to position a mirror housing between a viewing position and garage position. The mirror housing is moved in a direction opposite to the direction of travel against the vehicle body to position the housing at the garage position however, a mobility of the mirror housing in the event of collisions in both directions is provided so that the mirror housing automatically returning to the viewing position in the case of movements in the direction of travel.

Outside mirror for a vehicle

A bumper for a motor vehicle, with the bumper being equipped with an energy absorber provided along a rear surface thereof with at least one recess. The energy absorber is disposed forwardly of a girder subjected to bending, with the girder being attached to a vehicle. The recesses are arranged in such a manner that an impact force is transmitted to the body of the motor vehicle with as little moment as possible so as to prevent a tilting of the bumper and associated motor vehicle parts such as a fender of the vehicle. With a bumper girder subjected to bending being mounted forwardly of the energy absorber, at least portions of the recesses diagonally face the area of incidence of the impact force. If the impact is directly incident on the energy absorber, the recesses lie in an extension of a direction of the point of application of the impact forces.

Bumper for a motor vehicle

A web seam for sheet metal parts and a process for producing the same wherein the web seam is provided with a triple layer web projecting from a surface of the sheet metal parts, the layers are formed from a first flange of one sheet metal part and a second flange of the other sheet metal part. The first flange and a portion of the second flange immediately adjoining the other sheet metal part are separately connected by spot welds or by cementing in an intermediate step. The projecting edge of the second flange is then folded over in a U-shape and extends over the first flange. Additional weld spots or cement are applied to the web seam, which weld spots or cement simultaneously cover all three layers. A bight portion joining the first leg and a second leg of the U-shaped flange has a bending diameter which is larger than a single thickness of the sheet metal and, preferably, is twice the sheet metal thickness.

Web seam for sheet-metal parts and method for producing the same

A flat structural part for a motor vehicle body with the flat structural part forming, for example, a hood, a cover, or a door of the motor vehicle and being reinforced by pipes along a side of the edges, with the pipes being arranged at a distance from an outer covering of the structural part that may partially reach around the pipes either from above or below or from above and below, with the retaining pipes being connected with an edge area of the outer covering. The outer covering and retaining clips enclose an approximately wedge-shaped space that tapers off in a direction of the edge, with a space between the pipe and outer covering having a size that permits a free passage of a spray jet aimed thereat.

Structurally reinforced motor vehicle bodies

A bumper arrangement which includes a support having an impact body or piece that is directly or indirectly arranged at a shock absorber mounting for a bumper of a motor vehicle. The impact piece is embedded or surrounded by an elastic bearing pad, with the bearing pad being surrounded by a housing connected with the bumper of the motor vehicle. The housing includes an opening for enabling a passage of a portion of the shock absorber mounting so as to permit a relative movement between the shock absorber and the housing. The impact body or piece includes areas of contact that are disposed opposite each other with one of the areas of contact facing the bumper and the other area of contact facing the shock absorber mounting. The areas of contact are fashioned so as to be convex or bowed outwardly. The bearing pad has a predetermined minimum thickness in an area adjacent to the housing of the top and bottom sides as well as the front and back sides of the impact piece which enables the bumper to only carry out rotating movements about a vertical axis of the motor vehicle.

Arrangement for limiting bumper movement

A load rod for vehicles, especially motor vehicles, which rod is constructed so as to be a tow rod, an impact rod, a mounting rod, or similar rod. The load rod includes a loop portion as well as force distributing legs that diverge from the loop portion and extend at a distance from each other. The force distributing legs are provided with a mounting section for enabling a mounting of the force distribution legs at portions of a body of the motor vehicle that have greater rigidity. The mounting sections are joined to the body portion of the motor vehicle by a welding. The load rod, formed as a connecting rod, includes at least two individual shaped rods having a predetermined cross section. The individual shaped rods are, within a connecting level, placed against each other with their rod loop portions and are welded together, while the individual force distributing legs diverge outwardly in a direction from both sides of the connecting level.
