A method is provided for operating an illuminating device for a vehicle that features means of influencing light or a plurality of light sources for the targeted generation of pixels of a light distribution. In the event of failure of at least one pixel of the light distribution caused by a defect in one section of the means of influencing light or by malfunction of one of the light sources, at least one non-defective section of the means of influencing light or at least one non-malfunctioning light source is actuated in order to correct the light distribution. The at least one non-defective section of the means of influencing light or at least one of the non-malfunctioning light sources is actuated in such a way that at least one pixel of the light distribution adjacent to the at least one malfunctioning pixel is reduced in its brightness.

A lighting device for vehicles having a laser light source and an optical unit which is associated with the laser light source and which generates a predetermined light distribution. A diffusion element is arranged between the laser light source and the optical unit for reducing and/or preventing a speckle pattern in the light distribution.

Lighting device for vehicles

A headlamp for vehicles having a projection module containing a first light source for generating a first light bundle, a reflector assigned to the first light source, a lens, and an edge disposed in a focal plane for generating a low beam light distribution. The headlamp also includes a second light source for generating a second light bundle and an optics unit disposed between the lens and the second light source for generating a supplementary light distribution, such that by superimposing the supplementary light distribution and the low beam light distribution, a high beam light distribution is formed. The optics unit is formed by a flat waveguide having a light entry surface for receiving the second light bundle emitted from the second light source. The second light source is disposed in the proximity of the light entry surface, having a light exit surface, and flat sides extending between the light entry surface and the light exit surface, on which entering light can be conducted through total reflection. A light/dark border of the low beam light distribution is formed by the edge of the flat waveguide formed as the front outer edge, which connects the light exit surface and an upper flat side of the waveguide. The upper flat side of the flat waveguide is provided with a light blocking coating, such that an entry of light beams from the first light bundle striking the upper flat side is prevented.

Headlamp for vehicles

A reflector lamp comprising a reflector and a light socket with light, in which the light socket can be rigidly connected to a receptacle located on the back of the reflector, has at least one connecting bracket on an outside of the socket that extends transversely to a longitudinal axis of the light socket and is guided longitudinally in a groove of the receptacle and can be positively connected by plastic deformation fit to the receptacle. A process for rigidly connecting the light socket and light to the receptacle involves adjusting the light socket and light in the reflector and positively connecting the light socket to the receptacle with laterally extending connecting brackets on the light socket that are guided in grooves in the receptacle for longitudinal displacement therealong.
