An exhaust gas flap drive for an internal combustion engine, including a driveshaft which has a central axis m, an exhaust gas flap shaft, which is indirectly connected to the driveshaft and has a central axis k, and a coupling element, which is designed as a spring. The coupling element has a first end portion which is rotationally fixed to the driveshaft, and the driveshaft has a receiving area in which the end portion is mounted. The coupling element additionally has a second end portion which is rotationally fixed to the exhaust gas flap shaft via a coupling element, and the receiving area is designed as a groove which is provided on the end face of the driveshaft. The groove has a groove base and two groove flanks which delimit a width b of the groove. The width b decreases towards the groove base, and/or the coupling element has a form-fitting connection with the second end portion in a direction of the central axis k.

Exhaust gas flap drive

A flange plate for a manifold of an exhaust-gas system for internal combustion engines, which flange plate can be fixed via at least one holding device to an exhaust-gas outlet connecting piece of the internal combustion engine by a first outer layer, formed as a mounting layer, which can be placed at least partially directly or indirectly against the exhaust-gas outlet connecting piece via a seal, and the flange plate can be applied to the holding device by a second outer layer, formed as a holding layer, in order to generate a holding force F, acting at a right angle to the mounting layer, for sealingly placing the mounting layer against the exhaust-gas outlet connecting piece, and the flange plate having at least a first intermediate layer which is arranged, relative to the holding force F, between the mounting layer and the holding layer. Here, the first intermediate layer is formed as a cavity structure, wherein the cavity structure has single- or multiple-part wall parts which extend in a direction parallel to the mounting layer and are arranged adjacent to one another, the wall parts having a width b, measured in a direction parallel to the mounting layer, and having a height h, measured in a direction at a right angle to the mounting layer, where h&#x3e;b, wherein the different wall parts delimit a plurality of cavities which are open towards the mounting layer or towards the holding layer or, together with the mounting layer and the holding layer, delimit an open-ended channel.

Flange plate

An exhaust system composed of a plurality of components for an internal combustion engine for connecting to a manifold, the exhaust system includes at least one first section, which is provided indirectly or directly after the manifold in the flow direction, and a second section, which is directly adjacent thereto in the flow direction, wherein the two sections are connected to each other by a mechanical decoupling element. The resonant oscillations in the range above 600 Hz are to be attenuated in the exhaust system by more than 15 dB and, at the same time, the exhaust system is to be sufficiently rigid and self-supporting and designed to be lastingly gas-tight. For this purpose, a single-walled arid self-supporting acoustic insulating element is integrated in the exhaust system in the flow direction upstream of, or in, the first section.

Tubular acoustic insulating element

The object of the invention is to customize the properties of the drive assembly of motor vehicles comprising an intake system, an exhaust system, and/or an internal combustion engine. For this purpose, the mechanical properties of a serial drive assembly, the engine parameters efficiency and rotational torque, and the acoustics of the serial intake and/or exhaust system are stored in a database in an initial step. Furthermore, the construction features of the serial drive assembly that can be customized are stored in the database with their variation parameters and limitations. After varying at least one construction feature, the modifications of the engine parameters resulting therefrom are calculated and stored as a parameter difference. Likewise, the resulting changes of the acoustic features are calculated and stored as sound difference. Thereafter, the original values of the serial drive assembly are overwritten with the difference values and reproduced acoustically. If necessary, the steps from varying the construction features to the acoustic reproduction can be repeated over and over until the desired end result is obtained. The data transmission from the user to the database and back is done via Internet and/or Intranet.

Method for customizing the properties of a drive assembly in motor vehicles

A muffler with variable acoustic properties. A pressure cell with a diaphragm, a spring, a piston, a piston rod, a closing element on the piston rod, and a pressure connection line are integrated into a housing. The diaphragm is thermally insulated against the piston rod. Another layer of thermal insulation is provided between the closing element and the pressure cell.

The device for producing an overtone-rich, sporty exhaust sound of the exhaust system of a four-cylinder engine includes exhaust pipes with four manifold pipes, at least one front pipe and a tail pipe. The length and/or cross-section of at least one exhaust pipe differ from the length and/or cross-section of the other exhaust pipes. At least some of the exhaust pipes lead into a first, second and/or third collecting point.
