Matrix conveyor for use as a sorting device or palletizing device

Printing groups are each comprised of at least two cooperating cylinders, each of which is mounted in a bearing unit that radially displaces its associated cylinder. At least one of these bearing units is provided with an actuator which is controlled, or regulated by a control unit. An inking unit, which encompasses at least one ink application roller, is provided for each printing group. At least one of the cylinders of the printing group, and an ink application roller of the associated inking unit can optionally be placed against each other. A dampening unit, comprising at least one dampening fluid application roller, is also provided. At least one of the cylinders of the printing group and a dampening fluid application roller of the dampening unit are also optionally placed against each other. The at least one actuator for the bearing unit is remotely controlled and is embodied either as a hydraulic actuator or as a pneumatic actuator.

Printing groups comprising at least two cooperating cylinders and radially movable bearing units

At least several spaced apart storage compartments are provided in a plate storage device. These compartments can receive used printing forms from a printing cylinder or new printing forms that are to be supplied to the printing cylinder. At least one positioning assembly is utilized to adjust at least one mouth region of two of the storage compartments to the same spaced position, with respect to the printing cylinder, at different times in the operating cycle of the plate storage compartments. This mouth region is situated facing the printing cylinder. In another embodiment, at least one printing form, that is being received from the printing cylinder, can be stored in at least one storage compartment. At least one conveying apparatus is provided and includes an entraining mechanism for gripping the printing form that is to be removed. Alternatively, the conveying apparatus can be used with a new printing form that is to be fed to the printing cylinder and which is stored in at least one of the storage compartments. At least one advancing mechanism is provided and is comprised of a slider that can grip the printing form that is to be fed. A positioning assembly lifts and lowers the storage compartment, relative to the entraining mechanism and/or the slider or lifts and lowers the entraining mechanism and/or the slider relative to the storage compartment.

A method is used to set a contact pressure between a displaceable roller and another roller or for moving the displaceable roller with respect to the other roller. At least one actuator is subjectible to the action of a pressure medium and presses the displaceable roller toward the other roller with an adjustable force. The pressure of the pressure medium can be adjusted by a valve. A switchover device is provided for use in connecting the valve to different actuators, as desired.

Methods for setting the contact pressure of a displaceably mounted roller

Actuators are used to adjust a contact pressure exerted by a roller on an adjacent rotating body in a roller strip, or for arranging the roller on the rotating body or for separating the roller from the adjacent rotating body. The roller has ends that are mounted in a roller lock which includes several of these actuators. The actuators are supplied with a fluid under pressure, with a pressure level that can be controlled. The actuators, and preferably also the roller lock, have an identification characteristic such that for a selected roller lock, the contact pressure of a control unit, which can be actuated remotely, and which is exerted by the roller on the adjacent rotating body, can be adjusted by the actuators in response to the pressure level supplied to these actuators.

Devices for adjusting contact pressure exerted on an adjacent rotating body by a roller in a roller strip and/or for arranging the roller on the rotational body and/or for disconnecting the cylinder from the rotating body

A roller closing device is provided with an inner element and with an outer element. These two elements are arranged at least partially in a coaxial manner. The inner element can be deflected radially with respect to the outer element by the use of at least one elastic body which is arranged between the two elements. This elastic body is configured as a rolling diaphragm. A seal is configured between the inner element and the outer element. The seal closes off a gap between the two elements to prevent impurities from entering the roller closing device when any radial deflection of the inner element takes place.

A device is used to set a contact pressure between a displaceable roller and another roller or for moving the displaceable roller with respect to the other roller. At least one actuator is subjectible to the action of a pressure medium and presses the displaceable roller toward the other roller with an adjustable force. The pressure of the pressure medium can be adjusted by a valve. A switchover device is provided for use in connecting the valve to different actuators, as desired.

Devices and methods for setting the contact pressure of a displaceably mounted roller

The contact pressure between an adjustably mounted first cylinder and a second cylinder in a printing machine, and particularly in a web-fed printing machine can be adjusted. An actuator is usable to force the first cylinder toward the second cylinder with an adjustable force. A fixing device is usable to fix the first cylinder in a desired position relative to the second cylinder.

Devices for adjusting the contact pressure of an adjustably mounted cylinder

A pressure force exerted by first and second cylinders upon at least a third cylinder in a printing machine is regulated by a pressure regulating device. The device can also be using for moving a first cylinder and at least one second cylinder into and out of contact with a third cylinder. Actuators, which exert a radial force on a cylinder cooperating with the actuators, are provided. An aperture angle between the radial forces exerted by two actuators on the same cylinder is the same in both cylinders. That aperture angle is independent of an aperture angle formed by the pressure force exerted by the first and second cylinders on the third cylinder.

Device for regulating cylinders in a printing machine

The forces exerted by actuators are detected and devices are provided, which use those detected forces to regulate a pressure force exerted by one cylinder against another cylinder in a printing machine. The several forces can also be used for placing or removing one cylinder with respect to another cylinder. One cylinder may be mounted in a cylinder holder which is, in turn, mounted in a frame holder. At least two actuators are arranged between the cylinder holder and the frame holder. These actuators exert a radially directed force against the cylinder holder when they are actuated by a control signal.

Method and devices for regulating at least one cylinder in a printing press

A fixing devise is disclosed. It is usable for clamping two radially displaceable elements.
