A footswitch for a medical instrument, with a housing, and with an elastically deformable suction cup arranged in the housing, where a negative pressure is generated in the suction cup by means of an evacuation device in order to secure the housing to a floor surface. In order to create a footswitch which is suitable for a medical instrument and which, while having a simple design and being easy to handle, ensures that the footswitch is secured in a fixed position on a floor surface. The suction cup is elastically extensible via the evacuation device in order to generate the negative pressure by enlargement of the volume enclosed by the suction cup.

A medical appliance for use in a medical environment has a holding mechanism for holding the appliance on a support device assigned to the medical environment, and an attachment mechanism for attaching the appliance to at least one electrical connection line, wherein the holding mechanism is designed as at least one support bolt connected to a support structure of the appliance, and wherein the support bolt has the attachment mechanism. The invention also relates to a medical appliance system.

An equipment trolley with a support framework, which has at least one shelf area for receiving items of equipment, and a base plate, wherein support arms provided with castors are mounted on the base plate. In order to create an instrument trolley that ensures a very high degree of stability and resistance to overturning, it is proposed according to the invention that at least one support arm can be secured on the base plate so as to be extendable and adjustable in the horizontal plane of the base plate.

An electrosurgical instrument includes a first jaw member with a first electrode area and a second electrode area and a second jaw member, such that at least either the first jaw member or the second jaw member can be pivoted around a pivot axis in such a way that the jaw members can be approached to one another or distanced from one another, so that the first jaw member can be rotated in relation to the second jaw member around a rotation axis between a first predetermined working position and a second predetermined working position, so that in the first working position the first electrode area of the first jaw member is facing the second jaw member and so that in the second working position the second electrode area of the first jaw member is facing the second jaw member.
