In the method according to the invention, a wire () provided with teeth () passes sequentially through a first inductor () and a second inductor (). The inductors () function at different frequencies and generate different temperatures. The first inductor () heats in particular the base section (), which is not to be hardened, to a high temperature below the austenitizing temperature range. The second inductor () heats the teeth () to a still higher second temperature within the austenitizing temperature range. Defined, hardened teeth of consistently high quality result at quenching.

A shaft transmission () for a weaving machine comprises a shaft arrangement () that supports, on one end, a crown wheel () in order to drive the shaft arrangement (), which is supported by two bearing arrangements (), between which a package () comprising the cam disks (-) is non-torsionally held on the shaft arrangement (). The part () of the shaft arrangement (), which supports the package (), is connected with the remaining part () of the shaft arrangement () via a clutch arrangement (), and is secured, in connected state, by a locking arrangement () that is actuated from one end of the shaft arrangement (). For disassembly and replacement of the package (), the connection can be released and the cam disk section () can be removed from the shaft transmission (), while the drive section () remains in the shaft transmission ().

A needle holder () is provided, in particular, for industrial sewing machines, in which sewing machine needles having different needle gauges and preferably different cylindrical shanks or shafts are supported or held in such a manner that they can be adjusted in a transverse direction. This permits an adjustment of the relative position between the sewing needle () and the gripper (), without requiring an adjustment of the gripper position and/or the needle guard position.

A heald shaft for weaving machine has a shaft rod () which is formed of a one-piece light-metal profile and two stiffening bodies () glued to the shaft rod (). The stiffening bodies bridge the entire width of the shaft rod (), wherein the width is measured between the side walls (). The chambersfor receiving the stiffening bodies () each have at least one open side through which the stiffening body is visible from the outside and through which it may be introduced into the respective chamber (). This construction facilitates manufacture. Further, a rigidity in the working direction, as well as a good rigidity transversely thereto is achieved.

A method for controlling the exposure of a stationary mounted video camera is proposed, which makes it possible to attain an optimal exposure even in difficult light circumstances. For this purpose, measuring zones in the image are evaluated and, using the evaluation, a correction factor is calculated which influences the exposure parameters of the camera.
