For a hearing aid, the information for the hearing aid wearer relating to the state of charge of the power source () or the remaining life of the hearing aid with the relevant power source () is to be improved. To this end means are provided for operating the hearing aid by which the state of charge or remaining life can be interrogated at any time, with the information about the state of charge or remaining life being provided to the hearing aid wearer by emitting an acoustic signal indicating the state of charge or remaining life. The hearing aid wearer can thus be informed conveniently and discretely at any time about the state of charge or the remaining life.

The interference noise suppression in hearing devices is to be optimized. A hearing device, in particular a hearing aid (HG) is thus proposed, comprising a directional detection device (RM) for detecting a direction from which an audio signal comes in from the sound source (Q), and a signal processing device (VE) for processing the incoming audio signal as a function of the detected direction. An interference classification device (GK) for classifying the audio signal arriving from the sound source (Q) is also processed as a function of the signal class. With the aid of a signal generator (SG) and a receiver (H), a hearing aid wearer can, for example, be informed about the type and direction of the noise, said type and direction of the noise otherwise being so heavily attenuated by the interference noise suppression that the noise is no longer perceivable to said hearing aid wearer.

Hearing device and method of operating a hearing device

Feedback reduction in hearing aids is simplified and improved in an amplification device that has two separate compensation paths, an acoustic input and an inductive input. In the first compensation path, a first filter device acts to compensate acoustic feedback, and in the second compensation path, a second filter device acts to compensate inductive feedback. The two very different feedbacks can be individually compensated without increased outlay.
