An elevator system may include upper and lower shuttle cars in a first shaft. The shuttle cars are at least at times fixedly coupled to one another and can move vertically upward and downward together. Upper and lower distribution cars in a second shaft may be movable vertically upward and downward separately. The upper shuttle and upper distribution cars may each comprise a stopping point at an upper shuttle level. The lower shuttle and lower distribution cars may each comprise a stopping point at a lower shuttle level. The second shaft may include a first stop element that can selectively limit a driving range of the upper distribution car to the upper shuttle level and a range vertically above it. A second stop element in the second shaft may selectively limit a driving range of the lower distribution car to the lower shuttle level and a range vertically below it.

Elevator system having two shafts

A method for operating an elevator system with a car that moves in an elevator shaft may involve detecting an operating parameter related to a change in loading of the car, ascertaining whether a position of the car relative to a stopping floor needs to be adjusted based on the operating parameter, determining times at which the car is to be stopped and at which the adjustment is to be performed, stopping the car and blocking a flow of energy of a drive of the car and/or activating a service brake as the car is being stopped and/or while the car is stopped, and adjusting the position of the car if necessary. Further, whether the adjustment is necessary may be ascertained before the car is stopped.

Method for operating a lift system

An example elevator system may include at least one elevator cage that is displaceable in an elevator shaft, a connection means that has a first elevator cage-side end and a second end, and a suspension disposed on the elevator cage. The connection means may include, for instance, a balance chain or belt. The first end of the connection means may be fastened to the suspension on the elevator cage. Further, the example elevator system may include a support unit that exerts a force on the suspension that counteracts a force acting on the suspension due to a mass of the connection means. The support unit may include a rope, a deflection roller, and a counterweight, wherein the rope is fastened to the counterweight and the suspension and is guided over the deflection roller.

Elevator system

An example elevator system may include a shaft in which at least one elevator car can be vertically displaced. The elevator car may be coupled to a counterweight via a cable arrangement wherein the cable arrangement has at least one cable portion. Horizontal deflection of the cable portion can be limited by at least one limiting member. In some examples, the at least one limiting member may be configured as a limiting roller that is mounted laterally alongside the cable portion such that it can be rotated about an axis of rotation and can be made to rotate by a controllable rotary drive that depends on a speed and a movement direction of the cable portion.

Elevator installation

An example elevator system may include a shaft in which a first elevator car and a second elevator car positioned below the first elevator car are separately movable up and down in a vertical direction along a common guideway. The first elevator car may be coupled to a first counterweight by first suspension ropes and by first compensation ropes, and the second elevator car may be coupled to a second counterweight by second suspension ropes and second compensation ropes. Further, first and second ends of the first compensation ropes may be secured to the first counterweight or to the first elevator car. The first compensation ropes may be guided around at least one roller positioned on a bottom surface of the first elevator car or on the counterweight.

The invention concerns a lift system with at least one lift car able to ride in a lift shaft, while a travelling cable is provided, having a first end at the lift car side and a second end at the shaft side, wherein the weight force of the travelling cable is at least partially channelled into a traction means or balancing means engaging with the lift car.

Lift system

An elevator installation includes a shaft in which a first elevator car and a second elevator car arranged below the first elevator car are movable upward and downward in the vertical direction separately from each other. Each elevator car is coupled to a counterweight via a rope or belt arrangement. At least one rope or belt arrangement has two rope or belt sections via which one of the elevator cars is coupled to a counterweight and which extend laterally along the other elevator car. In order to avoid impairment of an elevator car by rope or belt oscillations, the elevator car has at least one limiting member which is held in a predetermined position in the shaft and is assigned to a rope or belt section and has at least one limiting element which is movable between a limiting position and a release position depending on the position of the elevator car which is coupled to the counterweight via the associated rope or belt section. In the limiting position, the limiting element can be positioned on that side of the rope or belt section which faces the elevator car, and, in the release position, the limiting element releases said side.

An elevator installation includes a shaft in which at least two elevator cars are arranged one above the other and are capable of travel upward and downward in a vertical direction separately from one another, wherein each elevator car is assigned a travel drive. The elevator cars are capable of travel with large and small spacings to one another without the risk of collision by coupling at least two elevator cars together by way of a variable-length, releasable coupling device, wherein the spacing between the coupled-together elevator cars can be varied, in a manner dependent on the relative speed between the two elevator cars, with the aid of at least one of the travel drives.
