The invention is based on a pinless sheet-metal hinge with maintenance-free bearing for motor vehicle doors, comprising two hinge halves, each securable via hinge tabs to one of the two parts of the door arrangement and meshing with one another with their single-joint regions, at least one of which is shaped from a sheet-metal material blank and in its single-joint region has two regions parallel to one another and oriented perpendicular to the hinge axis; the two hinge halves are supported pivotably on one another about a hinge axis with the interposition of bearing bushes made of a maintenance-free bearing material. In order to facilitate production using fully automatic machines, the invention proposes the provision of leadthroughs, concentric to one another and to the hinge axis, on the single-joint regions parallel to one another of each of the two hinge halves; the leadthroughs from one hinge half to the other have different diameters, such that the leadthroughs of the two hinge halves can be inserted in the manner of a male and female plug part.

A door holding device for a motor vehicle door includes A door holding rod which is pivotally connected to a door installation member, door or door post. The door holding rod is provided with locking portions for holding the door in predetermined positions and with an end stop for holding the door in an end position. A holder housing is rigidly connected to an other door installation member. The door holding rod extends through the holder housing. A first roller is mounted in the holder housing so as to be rotatable about a rigid axis. A second roller is rotatably mounted on a load-applying arm of a torsion rod spring which rests against the holder housing. The door holding rod extends between the two rollers. The door holding rod has over its entire length which comes into contact with the rollers a rounded cross-sectional shape and the locking portions are formed by at least one bent portion of the door holding rod directed transversely of the longitudinal axis of the door holding rod.

A seat for use in a motor vehicle has a body supporting unit and a back rest which is pivotably connected to the body supporting unit by two hinges having pintles provided with eccentrics which cause the back rest to perform a composite pivotal and transverse movement while it changes its orientation with reference to the body supporting unit. The back rest carries two pivotably mounted arm rests which are connected to the back rest and to the body supporting unit by linkages serving to ensure that the orientation of the arm rests remains substantially or completely unchanged while the back rest is pivoted with reference to the body supporting unit. A second linkage can be used to pivot the front ends of the arm rests rearwardly and upwardly when the back rest is lifted with reference to the body supporting unit and is pivoted forwardly toward the dashboard in a two-door motor vehicle in order to afford convenient access to the rear seats or to permit a passenger to leave a rear seat with a minimum of effort.

A hinge joint wherein a first component is affixed to the body supporting portion and a second component is affixed to the back rest of a seat, particularly in a motor vehicle. The two components are articulately connected to each other by a pintle having a cylindrical portion journalled in a sleeve of the second component, and an eccentric conical portion journalled in a complementary hole of a spur gear forming part of the first component. A spring biases the conical portion into the hole, and the conical portion has an eccentric recess for a cylindrical portion of the sleeve. Such design of the pintle contributes to simplicity and to a reduction of space requirements of the hinge joint. The conical portion can move the spur gear of the first component radially relative to an internal gear of the second component when the pintle is rotated by a hand wheel or by a motor.

A hinge joint which pivotably connects the back to the weight carrying portion of a seat in a motor vehicle has a shaft with two concentric and two eccentric cylindrical portions. The component which is attached to the back has an internal gear mating with a spur gear of the component which is attached to the weight carrying portion of the seat. One of the components is rotatably mounted on the concentric cylindrical portions of the shaft, and the other component surrounds with a small clearance one of the eccentric cylindrical portions. The other eccentric cylindrical portion is surrounded by the prong-like segments of a diaphragm spring or by discrete segments to compensate for radial clearance between the mating teeth of the gears on the two components. Abutments are provided on the segments and/or on the other component to prevent tilting of the segments beyond positions of minimal inclination relative to the other component to thus ensure that each of the segments can be caused to change its inclination in response to engagement by the apex of the other eccentric cylindrical portion when the shaft is caused to turn in order to change, or to permit a change of, the inclination of the back relative to the weight carrying portion of the seat. The shaft need not move axially in response to turning about the common axis of its concentric cylindrical portions.

Hinge joint for seats of motor vehicles and the like

A hinge joint wherein one of the leaves is secured to a fixed part and the other leaf is secured to the pivotable back rest of a seat in motor vehicle and is pivotable with reference to the fixed leaf about the axis of a pintle which can be rotated by a hand wheel or a motor. The other leaf carries a braking member with a cylindrical or frustoconical internal surface which is engaged by the peripheral surface of a prestressed elastic split ring defining a gap for the projection of a blocking element which is affixed to the pintle and urges the split ring into stronger frictional engagement with the braking member when the back rest is acted upon to pivot the other leaf. A coupling device is secured to the hand wheel or to the motor to disengage the split ring from the braking member when the pintle is rotated by the hand wheel or by the motor. The end portions of the split ring flank the projection of the blocking element and are flanked by two protuberances of the coupling device.

The present invention relates to an adjusting device for vehicle seats having a threaded spindle (4) and a spindle nut arranged thereon, each of which is connected in an axially immovable manner with one or the other of elements (1, 2) to be adjusted relative to each other. The spindle nut (13) is provided with a full-length (or continuous) channel (20) running parallel to the threaded bore which receives the threaded spindle (4), which channel receives a bar (22) which prevents a rotation of the spindle nut (13) about the longitudinal axis of its threaded bore. The opposing boundary surfaces (21) of the channel (20), which cooperate with the bar (22) are spaced from each other such that at the midpoint of the channel (20) the space is equal to the bar thickness and uniformly increases toward the two ends of the channel.

A seat rail for vehicle seats, particularly motor vehicle seats, is formed as a housing in which at least one drive element of a seat adjustment device is arranged. A slide rail which serves the longitudinally movable adjustment in a guide rail is formed on the seat rail. Seat rail

An arrangement for adjustment of seats has a seat support which is connected with rails associated with a vehicle bottom. The front end region of each lateral support member is connected via a swinging member with the associated rail in a pivotable manner. Each swinging member has a toothed rack in which a pinion supported in each lateral support member engages, and the pinion is arranged on a shaft extending through the lateral support members. An actuatable locking device fixes the pinion in the toothed rack together with the seat support in selected positions in stepped manner. For lifting or lowering the front and the rear seat region independently of each other, or together with each other, the rear end region of each lateral support member is also supported on a shaft extending through the seat support and fixedly connected with a pinion associated with each lateral support member. Each pinion engages in a vertically extending toothed rack fixed on each rail, wherein the pinion arranged on the same shaft is fixable by a locking device in selective height positions of the seat support in stepped manner.

Arrangement for height adjustment of seats, particularly power vehicle

A seat, particularly a power vehicle seat, has seat rail elements arranged at both longitudinal sides and forming a connection between a vehicle body and the seat part, each of the seat rail elements has a guide rail and a movable rail displaceably longitudinally relative to the guide rail, each of the movable rails includes a carrying member and a holding member together forming a T-shaped movable rail, a hinge connected with the seat part and connecting the movable rail with the back part, the hinge includes two hinge parts formed as a position adjusting and fixing transmission, wherein one of the hinge parts is fixedly connected with the carrying member of the T-shaped movable rail, whereas the other hinge part is connected with the back part and surrounded by the holding member of the T-shaped movable rail.
