Bottle cooler

A reusable cooling and insulating device for bottles and the like is provided in the form of a jacket having a single or plurality of flexible compartments which are interconnected having an inner chamber and an outer chamber therein. A heating and cooling temperature conditionable liquid is housed in the inner chamber which enables the inner diameter of the jacket formed by the inner chamber to confirm with the surface of the object on the which the jacket is positioned for heating or cooling. A flexible insulator of air or air and flexible plastic is positioned in the outer chamber of each compartment for directing a greater temperature transfer from liquid to the object and less heat exchange from the liquid to the environment. The liquid is continuously in direct contact with and pressed upon the bottle or object which contact determines the cooling/heating. The jacket is recharged in a freezer or heated in a microwave depending on the function to be performed. The liquid is never frozen solid in order to conform to the shape of the object to which the device is applied.

A container capable of being evacuated by a pump which is removably and sealably attached thereto comprises a cover having a removable valve mounted therein and a container body which is adapted to receive the cover. A compressible indication member is positioned between the periphery of the cover and container body, the visibility of which from the outside of the container provides an indication of the evacuation state of the container. The cover and the container body are movable relative to each other which movement is dependent on the pressure difference between the interior and the surroundings of the container whereby the deformation of the indication member provides an indication of the amount of pressure in the container.

Container

One or more bottle-holding rack components which may be interconnected and assembled to form a bottle rack and the like are each provided in the shape of a cradle having an upper bottle cradling surface and a plurality of upstanding legs each of which contain a joint element on the outer surface thereof and on the upper extremity of each of the upstanding legs. Interconnecting members are provided extending laterally on each side of the upper bottle cradling surface and are adapted to form an interconnection between adjacently-positioned bottle rack components. Each joint element on the upper and outer extremity of each leg are adapted to form a joint connection between complementary joint elements of adjacently-positioned bottle rack components whereby when adjacently-positioned bottle rack components are inconnected, three spaced joints are formed between the adjacently-connected components. Receptacles are positioned on the lower surface of the cradle for receiving a pair of joined upstanding legs which permits the positioning of bottle rack components on top of any adjacently-interconnected pair of bottle rack components thereby allowing the construction of a bottle rack assembly which is adapted to extend vertically as well as horizontally in a large variety of shapes and configurations.

Stopper for a container such as a bottle, and a pump connectable thereto

A stopper having a slit valve is provided for a bottle which is adapted to be used with a pump for evacuating air from the bottle to preserve wine being consumed from the bottle or by increasing the pressure in the bottle, for example, to maintain the carbon dioxide content in a soft drink being consumed from the bottle. The stopper and valve are integral and are made of the same elastic material. The valve is surrounded by a raised circular edge for protecting the slit valve. A circular flange is provided which rests on the top of the bottle neck. The raised circular edge is shaped to sealably receive a pump housing.
