A method for connecting the joint of two ends of at least one chassis sealing element. In order to allow a secure and quick connection of the ends and allow an additional unhindered passage of air and moisture between hollow chambers within the chassis sealing element via the joint when using a profiled hollow chamber, the ends are first arranged at a distance to each other, and a shapeless bonding agent is applied to at least one end. The bonding agent is then heated, and the ends are brought into mutual contact, whereby the ends are bonded at the joint by way of the heated bonding agent.

A profiled reinforcement element and a method for manufacturing such an element to be embedded in an elastomer strip, in particular a sealing strip or edge protection strip, the profiled reinforcement element being formed by a metal strip which is extended by expanding incisions located at a regular distance from each other and is shaped by creating profiled sections and introducing beads. Openings that have a closed rim and are formed by expanding the incisions are completely enclosed by beads.

The invention relates to a sealing strip for forming a slideway for a moving glass in a motor vehicle, the strip comprising a bottom and two lateral flanges constituting an internal leg and an external leg each connected to the bottom via a respective connection zone forming a hinge. The strip is received in a rabbet in the window frame of the door and whose right cross-section is generally channel-shaped. The strip also includes an-internal reinforcing tongue whose base is scoured to the internal leg and whose free end comes substantially into contact with the bottom to block the hinge situated between the bottom and the internal leg of the strip.
