A disassembly apparatus and a method for changing at least one cylinder and/or a cluster of a laterally supported 6-high roll stand. The disassembly apparatus includes: a handling frame, including a positioning and moving device for moving and positioning same; a mobile shuttle capable of moving over the frame, wherein the shuttle includes an extraction device which can be moved by a moving member and which can disassemble the roll stand or assemble a cluster and/or a lateral supporting cylinder on it. The extraction device includes an upper crossbeam rigidly connected, via a movable strut, to a lower crossbeam. Each of the crossbeams have, at each of their ends, a movable gripping plate including at least one locking bolt. The gripping plates of a single crossbeam are configured to grip at least one cluster and/or at least one lateral supporting cylinder by actuating the locking bolt.

Equipment for changing cylinders and/or clusters of a roll stand

A roll stand has two working rollers capable of gripping a strip to be rolled, two intermediate rollers, two bearing rollers, and at least one side bearing unit capable of laterally supporting the working rollers. At least one camber block for cambering the intermediate rollers is capable of vertical movement relative to the posts of the roll stand and of supporting the side bearing unit.

Roll stand

A spraying method and device for a plant for rolling a strip, the plant having at least one rolling stand. The device includes: a pair of working rolls between which the strip runs; a plane perpendicular to the running direction of the strip; at least one pair of supporting rolls for the working rolls; two pairs of bearing rolls, each of the pairs having the rolls thereof substantially symmetrically arranged on either side of the working rolls in a plane substantially parallel to the strip so as to transfer, to the working rolls, a force for maintaining the working rolls in a predetermined position relative to the supporting roll; a support for the bearing rolls in the form of two rows including a plurality of bearing rollers mounted side by side; one or more nozzle systems for spraying at least a portion of the strip and at least a portion of the rolls. At least one of the nozzle systems is capable of directly spraying at least a portion of the working rolls on either side of the plane that is perpendicular to the running direction of the strip.

Spraying method and device for a rolling plant

A method for changing rollers in a roll stand adapted for bearing at least one working roller for a continuously-running steel-strip roll mill, includes providing the stand as part of a plurality of roll stands disposed in series along the roll mill in a continuous running direction. A rolling standby function in a free clamping position of the roller(s) is allocated to at least one dedicated stand among the plurality of stands. Original setpoint values controlling an adjustment of the roller clamping are individually allocated to the other stands in an active rolling position. In the case of a roller change when passing into the free clamping position of the stand, the original setpoint value of the stand and the original setpoint values of the stands remaining in an active rolling position are redistributed individually among each of the stands, including the dedicated stand.

Method for changing a roller in a roll mill for a continuously running steel strip

A device for rotating at least one mandrel coupled to a secondary reduction gear that can in turn be coupled to a primary reduction gear and supplies a torque to the mandrel. The primary reduction gear is driven by at least one driving motor, the primary and secondary reduction gears are mechanically similar and can be coupled via at least one torque transmission means rotated by the primary reduction gear along a rotation axis, the torque transmission means includes at least one coupling tube with two section ends. Furthermore, in the assembled configuration, the primary and secondary reduction gears define a unitary assembly integrally encapsulating the torque transmission means that can be removed from the unitary assembly in the permanent assembled configuration through an opening of the unitary assembly formed in at least one of the walls of the primary and secondary reduction gears opposite the section ends of the torque transmission means.

Device for rotational driving

In a method to replace a pair of rolls of a rolling mill stand during a downtime period, worn rolls fitted with chocks are extracted from the mill stand and positioned on means of displacement that bear a pair of new rolls without chocks. The method sets the means of displacement in motion so that the worn rolls are aligned with a chock extraction device. The chock extraction device is used to remove the chocks from the worn rolls. The means of displacement are actuated so that new rolls are now aligned with the chock extraction device. The chock extraction device is used to reinstall, on the new rolls, the chocks. After the new rolls have been fitted with the chocks, the new rolls are inserted in the mill stand so that the downtime period is reduced and the number of chocks in service is likewise reduced.

Method of managing cylinders in a rolling facility and installation for implementing same

The invention relates to a process for increasing the range of production of an installation for cold rolling of metallic strip, consisting of at least two rolling stands (L, L) operating in tandem. According to the invention, at least one (L) of the rolling stands is equipped with means of converting the stand configuration, while keeping the same means () of applying the rolling force, in order to have at least two configurations available, each corresponding to one production range, and the configuration of said convertible stand Lis selected to match the data of the product (M) to be rolled, thus allowing the production range to be increased.

Method for increasing the range of production of a metal product rolling installation and installation therefor

The invention relates to a method and a device of inspection of a rolled band, wherein a band sample (M) is inspected on a first face then turned over for the inspection of a second face. According to the invention, by running parallel to its longitudinal axis, the band sample (M) is brought between two spaced apart grips (') (&#x2032;) which are clamped respectively on each transversal end (M, M) of the sample (M), both grips (&#x2032;) (&#x2032;) are spaced apart longitudinally from one another so as to stretch the sample for visual inspection of a first face, then the sample is turned over, by simultaneous rotation of both grips (&#x2032;) (&#x2032;) around the longitudinal axis O, while holding the tension applied, so as to proceed to the inspection of the second face, such tension being sufficient to conduct the inspection without the sample contacting a table. The invention enables, in particular, the inspection of a band at the exit of a continuous rolling line.

Method and device of inspection of a rolled band

The invention relates to a process for increasing the range of production of an installation for cold rolling of metallic strip, consisting of at least two rolling stands operating in tandem. According to the invention, at least one of the rolling stands is equipped with means of converting the stand configuration, while keeping the same means of applying the rolling force, in order to have at least two configurations available, each corresponding to one production range, and the configuration of said convertible stand is selected to match the data of the product (M) to be rolled, thus allowing the production range to be increased.

An imbricated roll planisher comprising, inside a fixed stand, two planishing systems each including a plurality of live planishing rolls with parallel axes, rotatably mounted in a supporting chassis and each associated with at least one row of support rollers, the assembly being pressed, on the side remote from the strip to be planished, against a resistant bearing beam. At least one of the planishing systems bears against the corresponding bearing beam via a set of hydraulic jacks distributed across the entire surface covered by the system, in parallel rows of at least two jacks, each row corresponding to one of the live planishing rolls. By individually adjusting the position and the pressure of the jacks of each of the rows, it becomes possible to determine the degree of imbrication and the distribution of the force applied on each of the live rolls, it being possible to make this adjustment even while the strip is feeding through.

Imbricated roll planisher and process for its use

Installation for planishing a metal strip moving in a longitudinal feed direction, comprising a fixed supporting stand having two vertical members, lower and upper resistant bearing beams and lower and upper planishing roll systems each comprising a row of parallel live rolls that bears upon a support chassis via at least one row of bearing rolls. At least one of the planishing systems bears upon the corresponding bearing beam via a set of adjustable actuators interposed between the chassis of the system and the resistant bearing beam, the actuators being distributed across the entire surface covered by the system. The system is associated with a device for individually adjusting the position of the bearing end of each actuator in relation to the bearing beam in order to adjust and maintain the position of the chassis and live rolls in relation to the corresponding rolls of the other system for the adjustment of the imbrication of the rolls.
