Methods and systems for printing on a print device from both authorized users and guest users are disclosed. The methods include configuring the print device to execute document processing jobs from both authorized users and guest users based on a rule set. The method also includes receiving a request to initiate a document processing session on the print device, initiating the kiosk mode session for executing paid document processing jobs by outputting a kiosk mode user interface that is configured to allow the guest user to submit requests for paid document processing jobs, receiving a request for executing a document processing job via the kiosk mode user interface, causing the print device to execute the document processing job, and causing a payment processing service associated with the guest user to render payment for executing the document processing job.

Methods and systems for enabling kiosk mode on a multifunction device

Systems and methods for customizing a kiosk device are disclosed. The methods may include, by a processor: providing a web-interface portal that enables a user to generate a customized application package for customization of a kiosk device that provides document processing services via a print device, receiving one or more custom files to be included in the customized application package from the user via the web-interface portal, and generating the customized application package. The customized application package includes the received one or more custom files stored in a format compatible with the kiosk device. The user does not have access to the format, and the customized application package when installed on the kiosk device will cause customization of the kiosk device in accordance with the one or more custom files.

Methods and systems for customization of a secured kiosk device

Methods and systems for printing on a print device from both authorized users and guest users are disclosed. The methods include receiving a request to initiate a document processing session on the print device, determining whether the requested document processing session is a kiosk mode session for executing a document processing job for a guest user or a staff mode session for executing a document processing job for an authorized user, initiating the kiosk mode session for executing paid document processing jobs in response to determining that the requested document processing session is the kiosk mode session, receiving a request for executing a first document processing job, determining a cost for executing the document processing job at the print device, receiving approval to execute the first document processing job at the print device for the determined cost from a guest user.

A print system includes a print device and a processor comprising programming instructions. The processor is configured to launch a first application that causes a display device to output a user interface via which a user may select a document to print via the print device. The user interface includes user interaction fields that, when actuated, will initiate actions that are unrelated to operation of the print device. The processor is further configured to launch a second application that causes the display device to generate and output a graphical overlay that is at least in part displayed over one or more of the user interaction fields to prevent the user from actuating the user interaction fields while presenting a user interaction field that permits the user to cause the print device to print a document.

A print system includes a print device and a kiosk device. The kiosk device includes a display device, and a processor. The processor is configured to launch a first application that causes the display device to output a user interface to a remote service from which a user may obtain a document to print via the print device. Methods and systems for providing a graphical overlay for limiting access to a network from a networked kiosk device

Apparatus are provided that includes a multi-function device that is configured to perform a plurality of functions relating to manipulating a document. The multi-function device can have a display configured to display interface tool for facilitating the customization of a function of the multi-function device. The interface tools allow a user to communicate with the multi-function device to enter information relating to the customized function. The custom application can be configured to be installed on the multi-function device, and the custom application is used to customize the multi-function device.

Improved network authentication process (NAP) allows omission of difficult-to-remember credentials, such as domain names/contexts, when users log on to a device via a local user interface (UI). Embodiments receive some authentication credentials, such as username and password, and obtain and parse reply data containing additional authentication credentials, such as domain name or context associated with the user, from a network directory server. The process sends now-complete authentication credentials to the authentication server, and authentication results are returned to the authentication service, which trickles the information to the local UI used to enter credentials.
