An alpine ski boot having a shell base on which an upper is journalled. The upper includes a rear spoiler that is pivotally mounted about a transverse axis located at the rear portion of the shell base. The boot also includes a stirrup that is journalled on the shell base in the area of the ankle. The stirrup extends to the area of the heel, where it is connected to the rear spoiler, forming a connection with the rear spoiler, with respect to the shell base.

Rear entry ski boot

A rear entry alpine ski boot, in which the rear spoiler is latched on the sides of the upper. The rear spoiler of the boot has an indent in its rear portion, the indent extending along a plane intersecting a plane passing by its latch on the upper and its pivot on the lower shell and determining an upper segment journalled on latch and lower segment journalled on pivot.

A ski boot including an upper surrounding the lower leg of the skier, and a shell base for surrounding the foot of the skier. The boot also includes an apparatus for closing the upper on the lower leg of the skier, an apparatus for holding the foot in the boot, and a mobile linking device for linking the closing apparatus and the holding apparatus so that actuation of one of the holder and closing apparatus actuates the other of the holding and closing apparatus. The closing apparatus and the holding apparatus comprise first and second cables, respectively, and the mobile linking device is attached to a first portion of the boot. The mobile linking device includes at least one countershaft around which one of the first and second cables are at least partially wound to define a loop including first and second strands. The first strand is attached to the first portion of the boot and the second strand is attached to a second portion of the boot. In addition, the cable that is not wound around countershaft is attached to mobile linking element and to the second portion of the boot.

A manipulation element for closing and latching a rear spoiler of boot on the leg of a skier. The manipulation element is journaled on the rear spoiler so that journalling of this element tensions a cable which closes the spoiler on the leg of the skier. The manipulation element comprises a U-shaped lever having an open space therein adapted to receive a second manipulation element which can, for example, lock the heel of the foot in the boot. In this way, two manipulation elements can be positioned on the dorsal zone of the spoiler. In another embodiment, the manipulation element includes two lateral ribs, each having a groove extending along the length of the rib for engaging and protecting the cable.

Rear-entry ski boot and manipulation apparatus therefor

A ski boot with a rigid shell having a foot retention system that is adapted to maintain the forefoot. At least one maintenance element at least partially surrounds the foot by forming a flexible arc between the plantar support zone and the top of the foot. The maintenance element includes at least two flexible elements that straddle a sensitive part of the foot. An activation mechanism adjusts the flexible elements to modify their position against the forefoot.

Foot retention apparatus for a ski boot

A ski boot including a rigid shell base and a cuff journalled to the shell base. A manipulation lever for adjusting the fit of the boot, the manipulation lever being positioned at an upper zone of the shell base. At least one flexion element having a space for receiving the manipulation lever, the flexion element being associated with an upper surface of the shell base and cooperating with the cuff. The flexion element being mounted transversely to a longitudinal axis of the boot and being adapted to extend over at least a portion of the periphery of the foot of a skier using the boot over a zone extending along the flexion fold of the instep of the skier. The cuff having a lower edge adapted to cooperate with an upper surface of the shell base via at least one flexion element, the flexion element being in continuous supporting contact with the lowered cuff edge at least along the longitudinal axis of the boot. An internal foot tightening apparatus for adjusting the fit of the boot. The flexion element comprising an extension portion positioned at least partially on the zone of the shell base. A flexion element for use with a ski boot having a fit adjustment apparatus, the flexion element being adapted to be positioned on an upper surface of the boot. The fit adjustment apparatus being controlled by a manipulation lever which fits into a space in the flexion element.

A ski boot comprising an upper. The upper has a rear portion comprising a foot maintenance apparatus. The foot maintenance apparatus comprises a support plate adjacent the internal wall of the rear portion of the upper. The support plate is at least partially affixed to the rear portion of the upper. The support plate has at least one deformation zone in a zone positioned above the heel of the foot being inserted in the boot.

Manipulation lever for closing and latching of a rear-entry ski boot

A flexible interior element (7) for securing the foot of a skier inside a rear entry ski boot. The respective ends of the element are attached at two spaced points (8, 9) on the rear portion (4) of the upper, and form between these ends a loop which passes over a return element (15), which is displaceable by a tension adjuster so as to vary the length and hence the tension of the loop.

Device for securing a skier's foot inside a ski boot

A manipulation element for closing and latching a rear spoiler of boot on the leg of a skier. The manipulation element is journaled on the rear spoiler so that journalling of this element tensions a cable which closes the spoiler on the leg of the skier. The manipulation element comprises a U-shaped lever having an open space therein adapted to receive a second manipualation element which can, for example, lock the heel of the foot in the boot. In this way, two manipulation elements can be positioned on the dorsal zone of the spoiler. In another embodiment, the manipulation element includes two lateral ribs, each having a groove extending along the length of the rib for engaging and protecting the cable.

A rear entry ski boot including two flexible tightening elements, one of which tightens the upper of the boot on the lower leg of the skier and the other of which presses the foot downwardly and rearwardly into the boot so as to hold down the foot in the zone of the short perimeter of the heel of the foot. Also provided are two separate and independent manipulation levers, one of which is positioned above the other on the posterior portion of upper. Each lever is journalled around at least one transverse axis and each lever is connected to a different one of the two flexible tightening elements.

Latching apparatus and unlatching means for use with a ski boot of the type having a shell base and an upper. The upper is adapted to open to allow for entry of the foot into said ski boot. The latching apparatus has at least two positions, an open position in which the upper is left to open to allow for entry of the foot, and a closed position in which the upper is closed around the lower portion of the leg. The latching apparatus is associated with the unlatching means whereby the unlatching means allows for opening of the latching apparatus without the skier having to bend down.

A rear-entry ski boot including a rigid shell base and an upper. The upper includes a cuff and a spoiler adapted to pivot between opened and closed positions. Also provided is means for automatically closing the spoiler after the leg is inserted into the boot, in response to pressure from the leg on the boot. The automatic closure means includes a flexible linkage element connected at an attachment point to the cuff, a guide element mounted on the upper and around which at least a portion of the linkage element is wound, a traction element journalled on the spoiler around a journal axis and which is connected to the linkage element, and an elastic apparatus for permanently maintaining a traction force on the linkage element for all positions of the spoiler with respect to the cuff. These elements form a self-latching elbow system which defines a dead point when the guide element, the journal axis and the attachment point are aligned. The spoiler may be substantially freely journalled when the traction element is positioned ahead of the dead point, and the spoiler cannot be substantially freely journalled to the open position when the traction element is positioned behind the dead point, thereby permitting latching of the spoiler and preventing accidental opening of the spoiler during skiing.
