The subject-matter of the present invention is a filter paper for laden liquids, with a high adsorption and absorption capacity. This paper, based on cellulose fibers, is filled with organic and/or inorganic pulverulent matter. The powder filling is adapted in quantity and quality to the liquid to be filtered. It finds its application in petrochemical, agri-foodstuffs and papermaking industries.

Filter paper for laden liquids

The subject matter of the present invention is a device for purifying lightly laden water containing particles and/or fatty matter and/or microorganisms in suspension. The device of the invention is a filter comprising a grid (1) on which is placed a filter element (3) consisting of at least one sheet based on fibers and filled with organic and/or inorganic powders. The invention finds its application in all the industries which consume water and especially the crude oil processing industries and the chemical, papermaking and agri-foodstuffs industries.

Device for purifying lightly laden water

The present invention relates to a filled paper for gas filtration, with a high adsorption and absorption capacity. This paper, consisting of cellulose fibers, is filled with organic and/or inorganic powders adapted in quantity and in quality to the gas to be treated. It finds its application in the petroleum, chemical, agri-foodstuffs and papermaking industries, in apartment buildings and in office and hospital buildings.

A process is provided for the treatment of suspensions comprised of oil, water and solids in which the suspension is subjected to centrifugation employing a centrifugal filter, coated with an organic powder having an index of compressibility comprised between 0 and 1.2, and wherein under the effect of the centrifugation, the suspension is subjected to an acceleration comprised between 10 and 2500 times the gravity force, that is, 100 to 25000 m/s.sup.2. The solids are retained by the coating and the centrifugate is collected. The invention is useful for the treatment of crude oil, of lubricants and oils which produce suspensions or emulsions rich in fats.

Process for the treatment of oily suspensions

Process for inhibition of microorganisms in liquid hydrocarbons by the introduction of one or more biocidal agents into these hydrocarbons, which also include a small quantity of water and a surface-active compound. This treatment is particularly useful for preserving liquid hydrocarbons such as petrol, kerosene, gasoline or domestic fuel while being stored.
