An eyeglass frame particularly suited to sporting activities has two temples each comprising a main part and an end part aligned with the main part. The end part is mounted at one end of the main part and adapted to rotate about its own axis relative to the main part. The end part has two opposite edges on respective sides of its rotation axis. One edge has a more accentuated curvature than the other.

An eyeglass frame comprises two surrounds each receiving a respective lens. A bridge joining together the surrounds comprises a generally omega-shaped spring. This has two lateral lugs by each of which it is attached to a respective surround. Its middle part has two ends with concave sides facing towards each other and set back relative to the lateral lugs. A nose-side support arrangement is fitted to the bridge and comprises a U-shaped support having two branches each of which is interlocked with a respective end of the middle part of the bridge.

The support structure comprises a locking arm or shutter movable in rotation between an open position where it allows to penetrate the projecting element of the front in an interacting hollow housing and a locking position where it is folded back in order to block this projecting element. In a spectacle frame each lens surround is formed by a relatively rigid rail and a flexible retaining member attached at each end to the rail. To effect this attachment the ends of each rail are formed with two transverse holes through which the flexible retaining member is passed twice. Each nose pad of the spectacle frame is also formed with two transverse holes through which the flexible retaining member may be passed twice. The holes in each nose pad correspond to those in the nose end of the associated rail, so that the nose pad may be attached to the rail by means of the flexible retaining member holding a lens in position in the surround.

The invention relates to a spectacle frame of the kind comprising a main structure (10) and, for each lens (11) to be mounted, a surround which is formed, on the one hand, from an upper rim (12), and, on the other hand, from a flexible rim cord (13). According to the invention, for at least one of the ends of the said flexible rim cord, four holes are provided in combination, two holes (14) being formed in the main structure (10), and two holes (26) being formed in correspondence in the upper rim (12), so that the said rim cord (13) fastens this upper rim (12) to the main structure (10).

The invention relates to an improvement to spectacle frames, and is more particularly directed to a novel nose plate holder which comprises a fixing tab adapted to be attached to the spectacles, an upright member adapted to support the side members of the frame and having a length at least equal to twice the thickness of said side members, a substantially U-shaped bow portion having its open end directed downwardly, and a plate attaching member adapted to support the nose plate, said fixing tab, upright member, bow portion and plate attaching member being substantially disposed in line.
