Seed sensors that surround the conventional mounting location on existing seed tubes. The seed sensors sense seeds using electromagnetic fields, including RF and microwave fields. In one embodiment, a first seed sensor has a coaxial Fabry-Perot resonant cavity which is formed between two coaxial portions of a conduit that surround the seed tube. Another seed sensor uses a capacitive design. In one embodiment, the driving signals are applied 180 degrees out of phase. The detected phase shift between the reference and reflected signals provides reliable seed counting. Electronics extract the signal from the sensing field.

A method of monitoring a broadband digitized reverse link system comprising monitoring at least one radio frequency down-convert path in at least one remote unit in the digitized reverse link system using an internal tone generating system, digitally verifying the health of at least one digitized communication link communicatively coupled to receive digital signals from a respective remote unit, and monitoring the health of a radio frequency up-convert path in a host unit communicatively coupled to receive the digital signals from the at least one digitized communication link in the digitized reverse link system using a wideband power detector in the host unit.

Systems and methods for digitally equalizing a signal in a distributed antenna system are provided. In one embodiment, a signal processing device within a distributed antenna system comprises a signal path within a signal processing board, the signal path having an uncompensated distortion function of G(&#x3c9;) with a system response represented by y(n); and a compensator coupled to the signal path, the compensator having a finite impulse response (FIR) filter with an impulse response function represented by H(&#x3c9;), the compensator having an FIR filter parameter vector {right arrow over (h)} determined from an estimated system response y(n) of the signal path to an input comb signal x(n), wherein y(n) is estimated from interpolated measured output responses of the signal path to a plurality of frequency sweep signal test inputs.

Method and apparatus for digitally equalizing a signal in a distributed antenna system

A system to monitor gain in a broadband radio frequency transport system that includes a radio frequency antenna, a remote unit, and a host unit adapted to receive a signal from the remote unit over a transmission link. The remote unit includes a pilot tone generator adapted to generate at least one single-frequency tone having a known power level, a summing circuit operably associated with the pilot tone generator adapted to sum the single-frequency tone with the respective received radio frequency signal. Each host unit includes a pilot tone receiver circuit to receive the transmitted signal and detect the single-frequency tone transmitted over the transmission link. The host unit includes a controller to determine a gain within the transmission link and to determine if the gain is in a preset range of gains based on the power level of the received pilot tone.
