A preform station for forming a flexible semi-finished product and for transforming a flexible semi-finished product into a geometrically stable preform is provided. The preform station comprises a first pin array having a multitude of pins, on which the semi-finished product can be draped. Furthermore, the pins are movable along their longitudinal directions in order to form the flexible semi-finished product. Furthermore, the preform station comprises an activation device for activating a binder of the semi-finished product such that the semi-finished product can be transformed into the geometrically stable preform.

Preform station and method

An induction heating system and a method for controlling a process temperature for induction heating of a workpiece. The induction heating system comprises an inductor configured to generate an alternating magnetic field in response to an alternating current supplied thereto, a magnetic load comprising a magnetic material, the magnetic material having a Curie temperature and being configured to generate heat in response to the alternating magnetic field being applied thereto, the magnetic load being connectable to the workpiece in a heat-conducting manner so as to transfer the generated heat to the workpiece, and a control unit configured to control the process temperature for manufacturing the workpiece by adjusting the alternating magnetic field when the temperature of the magnetic material is in a temperature control range around or below the Curie temperature of the magnetic material, the temperature control range being dependent on the magnetic material of the magnetic load.

Active temperature control for induction heating

An efficient method for manufacturing a partially cured composite component intended to be joined with other component or components to form a composite structure and a manufacturing method of the composite structure. The partial curing of a composite layup is achieved using a mold comprising heat conductive elements and insulating elements and applying heat and pressure over the mold. The heat conductive elements are used to transmit or dissipate heat to/from the composite layup. The insulating elements are used to prevent the transmission or dissipation of heat to/from the composite layup.

Manufacturing method of partially cured composite components

Acoustic panel

A coating for acoustic treatment relative to an aircraft's surface, in particular a leading edge such as an air intake of an aircraft nacelle, includes an acoustically resistive layer, at least one alveolar structure (), and a reflective layer. The alveolar structure () includes a number of tubes that empty out, on the one hand, at a first imaginary surface (), and, on the other hand, at a second imaginary surface (). The alveolar structure () includes cut-outs or openings () made at the side walls of certain tubes that make it possible to link adjacent tubes so as to create a network of communicating tubes that isolate at least one tube or a group of non-communicating tubes, whereby at least one of the communicating tubes is connected to at least one hot gas intake ().
