The present disclosure is directed to an automated system and method of analyzing performance of engines in a test cell. The method includes electronically accessing engine operational data in a stored database of the test cell. Another step includes electronically retrieving operational data corresponding to the new test if at least one new test is detected in the stored database for an engine. Further, the method includes inputting the operational data corresponding to the new test into a performance model specific to an engine type for the engine. The method also includes electronically analyzing an output of the performance model. An additional step includes electronically generating at least one summary report of engine health of the engine based on the analyzed output. Thus, the method also includes providing the summary report as electronic output to a user.

Automated system and method for generating engine test cell analytics and diagnostics

A vehicle traction control system is actuated when driven wheel slip (S) exceeds a predetermined slip threshold (T) to reduce the amount of driven wheel slip (S) by reducing the driven wheel speed. The traction control system also monitors vehicle deceleration. Upon detecting that the vehicle is decelerating and that the vehicle deceleration has exceed a deceleration threshold, the traction control system determines that the vehicle has encountered a deformable surface such as mud or deep snow. Upon detecting entry onto a deformable surface, the slip threshold (T) is linearly increased over a period of time to increase the driven wheel speed and thereby allow the wheels to churn through the deformable surface.

Traction control algorithm for vehicle operation upon deformable road surfaces

A method of selecting a performance trim set for a control algorithm from multiple performance trims sets contained in a read only memory. The selected trim set is used by a control system for a motor vehicle, such as a traction control system. The selected trim set is determined by a trim set identification. The trim set identification is determined every ignition cycle from the system messages. A default trim set identification can be provided until the vehicle identification for a particular motor vehicle is received through the system messages. Thus, a failsafe is provided to ensure that a valid trim set is used for that particular motor vehicle.
