A chassis for housing information handling resources of an information handling system may include an enclosure, a plurality of bays formed within the enclosure, each bay of the plurality of bays configured to receive a corresponding modular information handling resource, and a hem comprising a ledge extending from the enclosure and running proximate to at least a portion of the plurality of bays. The hem may have formed therein a recess sized and shaped in accordance with physical dimensions of an interchangeable labeling strip and a plurality of retention features, each retention feature configured to receive a corresponding engagement feature of the interchangeable labeling strip, in order to retain the interchangeable labeling strip within the recess.

A drive carrier for retaining a persistent storage drive in an enclosure. The drive carrier includes a mounting bracket, a handle coupled to the mounting bracket, and an electromagnetic interference ('EMI') shielding apparatus disposed between mounting bracket and at least a portion of the handle. The mounting bracket is shaped to be coupled to the persistent storage drive. The EMI-shielding apparatus includes a plurality of EMI-shielding fingers. Each EMI-shielding finger includes a lower surface, an upper surface that is approximately parallel to the lower surface, and a contoured surface extending between the lower surface and the upper surface.

A latch to secure an access panel at an enclosure may include a shuttle component including a latch pin. The latch pin is configured to engage with a corresponding receptacle at the enclosure. A spring retracts the latch pin to within the access panel when the access panel is not positioned for installation at the enclosure, and permits the latch pin to protrude from the access panel to mate with the receptacle in response to magnetic attraction by a magnet positioned within the receptacle when the access panel is positioned for installation at the enclosure. The magnetic attraction of the magnet to the latch pin overcomes the force of the spring to retract the latch pin.

A cable assembly may include a cable communicatively coupling a first information handling resource to a second information handling resource and a cable chain for guiding a routing of the cable, the cable chain comprising a plurality of cable chain links. Each cable chain link may include a plurality of coupling features for rotatably coupling, about an axis, such cable chain link to another cable chain link, one or more limiting features for limiting a rotation of such cable chain link to the other cable chain link, and an opening formed in such cable chain link and configured such that the cable chain has a lengthwise opening along one side of the cable chain which forms a channel for receiving the cable.

An Open Compute Project (OCP) module forces an electrical shutdown sequence. The OCP module integrates an eject pull mechanism that has two (2) positions. A retracted position of the two (2) positions is inaccessible from an exterior of an information handling system. A deployed position of the two (2) positions is only accessible from an interior of the information handling system. The eject pull mechanism forces the electrical shutdown sequence prior to moving or transitioning from the retracted position to the deployed position.

An information handling system includes an electrical connector to mate with terminals of a data storage device. The system further includes a temperature sensor integrated at the electrical connector. The temperature sensor is arranged to thermally couple to an exterior surface of the data storage device when the data storage device is fully inserted into the electrical connector.

An enhanced airflow chassis system includes a component chassis that defines a chassis enclosure including a chassis entrance and component slots. First component carriers are mounted to first components and positioned in each of the component slots. Each first component carrier defines first component carrier airflow apertures that direct airflow entering the chassis entrance to the first component mounted to that first component carrier. A backplane located in the chassis enclosure opposite the component slots from the chassis entrance defines backplane airflow apertures and includes a component connector located adjacent each of the component slots that is connected to the first component mounted to the component carrier positioned in that component slot. A chassis venting member positioned between at least two of the component slots defines chassis venting member airflow apertures that direct airflow entering the chassis entrance through the chassis enclosure to a subset of the backplane airflow apertures.

A receptacle connector may include a housing for housing a first pin and a second pin. The first pin may be of a first length and configured to be coupled to a first corresponding pin of an information handling resource received by the receptacle connector, the first pin comprising two contact bumps for maintaining electrical contact with the first corresponding pin. The second pin may be of a second length and configured to be coupled to a second corresponding pin of the information handling resource. The second length may be substantially shorter than the first length such that when the information handling resource is inserted into the receptacle connector, the first corresponding pin engages with the first pin before the second corresponding pin engages with the second pin. The second pin may comprise one contact bump for maintaining electrical contact with the second corresponding pin.

A component carrier may include a carrier front wall and a plurality of carrier side walls extending in a substantially parallel orientation to each other from opposite edges of the chassis front wall, and defining a component channel between them. The carrier side walls may include respective guide flanges extending substantially perpendicularly therefrom such that the guide flanges are in a substantially parallel orientation to each other and the guide flanges are oriented relative to the remainder of the component carrier such that when a component is mounted within the component channel to the component carrier, and the guide flanges may define a plane whereby a combined mass on a first side of the plane of the component carrier and the component is approximately equal to a combined mass on a second side of the component carrier and the component.

Systems and methods for reducing vibration associated with a component in an information handling system

Systems and methods that may be implemented to secure a bezel over a face of an information handling system chassis by using magnetic force to draw in and retain a ferromagnetic bezel latch pin in a latching position relative to complementary latch structure of the chassis. The disclosed systems and methods may be implemented in a manner that minimizes functional intrusions on the front (or other side) of a chassis enclosure to which a bezel is secured, that reduces the number and/or complexity of mechanical features that are conventionally employed, and/or that presents both an intuitive and pleasant user experience for the end user.

Systems and methods for securing panels to information handling system chassis

A sliding latch release mechanism for a latched cable connector. The sliding latch release mechanism includes a fixed portion which is configured to fit securely around a latched cable connector, the latched cable connector having a latch release mechanism. The sliding latch release further includes a slideable portion which is housed within the fixed portion and is configured to move within a slot on the fixed portion. When slid back and forth, the slideable portion of the latch release mechanism engages the latch of the latched cable connector and releases the latch so the latched cable may be unplugged.

In accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure, a system may include a structural base, a handle mechanically coupled to the structural base, and a cam element mechanically coupled to the handle. The handle may be configured to translate between an open position and a closed position and vice versa relative to the structural base. The cam element may be configured to mechanically couple to a retention structure for retaining the system when the handle is in the closed position and during at least a portion of the translation of the handle, move at least partially in a direction opposite to that of the handle in response to translation of the handle.

A stacked connector alignment system includes a board with processor and a board connector coupled to the processor. An alignment element is mounted to the board adjacent the board connector. The alignment element includes first alignment members and second alignment members that are spaced apart from the first alignment members. A first component includes a primary first component connector and a secondary first component connector that is located on an opposite surface of the first component from the primary first component connector, and the first alignment members are configured to engage the first component to align the primary first component connector with the board connector. A second component includes a second component connector, and the second alignment members are configured to engage the second component to align the second component connector with the secondary first component connector when the primary first component connector is connected to the board connector.
