The invention relates to a predistorsion linearizer for a power amplifier operating in the microwave range, the linearizer comprising means for conferring gain and phase predistorsion which compensate the gain and phase non-linearities of the corresponding amplifier, in particular an amplifier of the electronic tube type. The linearizer is characterized in that it comprises: a &ldquo;linear&rdquo; first path comprising a Lange coupler having each of its two accesses grounded via a respective passive element, and a &ldquo;non-linear&rdquo; second path comprising a Lange coupler having each of its two accesses grounded via a respective active element, the addition of a transmission line of variable length in at least one of the two paths enabling the (non-constant) frequency response of the linearizer to be adjusted in order to compensate the response of the amplifier that is to be linearized.

Broadband predistortion linearizer

The invention relates to a device for linearizing the gain and phase of an amplifier operating in the UHF range. The gain and phase of the amplifier are linearized by conferring a predistortion of the gain and phase, which compensates for the non-linearities in gain and phase of the corresponding amplifier, notably of the electronic-tube type. The device has a first channel with a series-connected Schottky diode that receives the input signal, a second channel with a parallel-connected Schottky diode that also receives the input signal, and a coupler for phasing the output signals supplied by the first and second channels.

Broad frequency band linearization device

A digital device for controlling the amplitude and the phase of a radio frequency signal includes a variable digital attenuator, a variable digital phase-shifter, and a distributor having one input and two outputs for dividing the radio frequency signal into a first signal part and a second signal part. A digital amplitude control first channel connected to an output of the distributor includes the variable digital attenuator for controlling the amplitude of the first signal part. A digital phase control second channel connected to the other output of the distributor in parallel with the first digital control channel includes the variable digital phase-shifter for controlling the phase of the second signal part. A recombiner has one output and two inputs respectively connected to the outputs of the two digital control channels and recombines the controlled two signal parts. Such devices include predistortion linearizers.
