A method, implemented by computer means, for adapting the sensorial output mode of a sensorial output device, for example a head mounted sensorial output device, to a user of the sensorial output device, the method comprising: a user attentional availability data providing step, during which user attentional availability data indicative of the attentional availability of the user are provided, a user sensorial perception threshold determining step during which a sensorial perception threshold of the user is determined based on the user attentional availability data, and an sensorial output mode adapting step during which the sensorial output mode of the output device is adapted based on the user attentional availability data and the user sensory perception threshold.

Method for adapting the sensorial output mode of a sensorial output device to a user

The invention relates to a finished or semi-finished lens which comprises: a disc containing all the points of the lens that have the same abscissa and the same ordinate as points located within a circle in the reference plane having a diameter of 30 millimeters and centered on the prism reference point; a progression length of less than 14.5 millimeters; a first specific point having a cylinder value equal to the maximum cylinder value of all the points of the lens located in the nasal area and in the disc; and a second specific point having a cylinder value equal to the maximum cylinder value of all the points of the lens located in the temporal area and in the disc; a first ratio between: the maximum gradient of the cylinder for the points of the lens that have the same abscissa and the same ordinate as the points located on segments connecting the mounting cross to the first and second specific points, and surface addition of less than 0.095 per millimeter; and a second ratio between: the maximum cylinder value of the first and second specific points, and surface addition of no more than 0.85. The invention enhances the comfort of the wearer.

Progressive multifocal ophthalmic lens

A process for designing an ophthalmic progressive eyeglass comprises providing an initial front surface and an initial back surface. Respective addition values of front and back surfaces of the eyeglass are varied based on said initial front and back surfaces using a surface derivation tool. These surface addition values are selected so that the eyeglass exhibits an eyeglass addition value which matches a wearer's prescription and a value for a design feature which matches a target value. Said target value may be used for customizing the ophthalmic progressive eyeglass. The process does not require point-to-point surface optimization.

Process for designing an ophthalmic progressive eyeglass

Implementations described and claimed herein provide a complex surface of a progressive multifocal ophthalmic lens. In one implementation, the complex surface includes: a difference in ratio between cylinder value and surface addition less than 0.2 in absolute value; a first ratio between a maximum cylinder value for all points in a grouping circle and a surface addition; and a second ratio between a maximum cylinder value for all points on a disc and a surface addition. In another implementation, the complex surface includes: a difference in ratio between resultant astigmatism value and prescribed addition less than 0.3 in absolute value; a first ratio between a value of resultant astigmatism for all directions of gaze passing through an angular circle and a surface addition; and a second ration between a value of resultant astigmatism for all directions of gaze passing inside the angular circle and a prescribed addition.

A progressive multifocal ophthalmic lens has a complex surface having a prism reference point, a fitting cross, a progression meridian having a power addition greater than or equal to 1.5 diopters. The lens has, under conditions when being worn:

Ophthalmic lens

The invention relates to a progressive ophthalmic lens and to a method of producing one such lens. Variations in the optical power and the astigmatism of a progressive ophthalmic lens () result from (i) spherical and cylindrical variations in the anterior face () of the lens and (ii) variations in another physical unit of the lens. In this way, it is possible to customise the design of the progressive lens as a function of at least one behavioural characteristic of the lens wearer. Said customisation can be repeated by modulating the values of the physical unit between the different points of the lens. As a result, progressive lenses with different designs can be obtained from identical semi-finished lenses. The physical unit can comprise the sphere and the cylinder of the posterior face of the lens ().

Progressive ophthalmic lens and method of producing one such lens

A method of improving an initial color filter comprises a numerical generation of sinusoidal spectra. Two steps of selecting said spectra are then executed. The first selection is carried out according to a criterion of colorimetric similitude with respect to the initial filter. The second selection is carried out according to the capacity of dummy filters corresponding to each spectrum to restore hues in a natural manner. To do this, observations of samples of hues through each dummy filter are simulated numerically, using a color appearance model to take account of a visual perception of a human observer. In this way, an improved filter is determined, which has a color close to that of the initial filter and which affords a natural rendition of hues.

Method of improving a color filter

A quantitative evaluation of a color filter () in accordance with the capacity of said filter to restore hues comprises the use of a numerical color appearance model. Values of a perceptive attribute are calculated for hue samples (), by simulating the observation of each of the samples through the filter () and without a filter. The values of the perceptive attribute correspond to the visual perception of the samples by an observer (), and a deviation between the values with and without filter constitutes the result of the evaluation of the filter. Such a method makes it possible to quantitatively rank several color filters, and the ranking obtained corresponds to that which would be established by real observers evaluating the filters.

Quantitative evaluation of a color filter

The subject of the invention is a method for determination by optimization of an ophthalmic lens for a wearer for whom a power addition has been prescribed. The method proposes using as a target for the optimization of the lens, under wearing conditions, a difference of the mean orientation of the axes of resulting astigmatism to the vertical of less than 2.5&#xb0; in a first control zone delimited by an ellipse centred on the progression meridian at half height between the fitting cross and the near vision reference point, said ellipse having a major axis greater than 35&#xb0; and a minor axis comprised between 3.8&#xb0; and 4.5&#xb0;. The invention allows improvement in the performances of the progressive multifocal lenses in intermediate vision.

Method for determination of an ophthalmic lens

An ophthalmic lens has a complex surface with an optical centre, a fitting cross (FC) situated 4 mm above the optical centre, a meridian having a power addition between reference points in far vision (FV) and in near vision (NV). The complex surface has a mean-sphere difference normalized to the addition on the meridian, between the geometric centre of the lens and the control point in far vision, less than or equal to 0.1; a progression length less than or equal to 14 mm; a rebound of the sphere quantity normalized to the addition on a circle with a radius of 20 mm centred on the geometric centre of the lens less than 0.11, and a maximum slope of the sphere variation normalized to the addition along the meridian comprised between 0.9 and 0.11 mm. The lens is suited to broadened far vision with a good accessibility to near vision.

A multifocal ophthalmic lens comprising a far vision region, a near vision region an intermediate vision region and a main meridian of progression passing through these three regions is provided in which a principal length of progression, defined as a ratio between power addition and maximum slope of mean sphere along the meridian is less than 16 mm, sphere varies in a monotonous fashion as a function of angle on a 20 mm radius circle centered on a geometric center of the lens at both sides of said meridian, and in which the far vision region includes an angular sector having its origin at the geometric center of the lens with an included angle greater than 150&deg;. This provides a good distribution of isocylinder and ionosphere lines over the lens, ensuring progression is very gentle.

Multifocal ophthalmic lens

The invention concerns a set of progressive multifocal opthalmic lenses, each having a first progressive multifocal surface and a second surface preferably spherical. It proposes to define the set of lenses with regard to the optical characteristics of the lenses, and particularly wearer power and oblique astigmatism, in worn conditions. For this purpose, the invention defines an ergorama associating with each sight direction in worn conditions a target object point, and a given power. This ergorama supplies a power target for a definition by optimisation of the lenses, and is used in a radii plotting programme for calculating the optical characteristics during optimisation. The set of lenses has substantially identical optical performances for a given addition, whatever the power of the far vision reference point.

Set of progressive multifocal ophthalmic lenses

The invention relates to a pair of progressive ophthalmic spectacle lenses; each lens has an aspherical surface with a far vision zone, an intermediate vision zone and a near vision zone, and good monocular and binocular foveal vision along the principal meridian. At each point of the aspherical surface there is a mean sphere which is proportional to the half sum of the maximum and minimum radii of curvature expressed in meters, and to the refractive index of the lens material. The invention suggests reducing, for a given direction of sight, the absolute value of the difference between a binocularity parameter for two points in the object space. The binocularity parameter is defined for a point in the object space as the relative difference &Dgr;S of the mean sphere for the points of the aspherical surface of the right and left lenses through which the wearer sees said point.
