A vehicle seat the feet of which are assembled in a removable manner on two fixed sections by means of vertical jaws which ensure the coupling of the seat onto the fixed sections.

Vehicle seat assembly comprising a removable seat assembled on guide rails

A movable seat for a vehicle, the seat being of the type including an unlockable fixing mechanism for connecting its seat structure to the floor of the vehicle. The mechanism includes a latch 8 having a shoulder 9 and mounted to move relative to the structure 2, the latch being suitable for penetrating in an opening 3 in the floor 1. Under the control of control mechanism, the latch 8 can take up either an unlocking position in which it is capable of penetrating into the opening 3 or of escaping therefrom, or else a locking position after it has penetrated into the opening, in which locking position the shoulder 9 is in locking engagement beneath an edge 3' of the opening 3.

Movable vehicle seat

A vehicle seat back having a reentrant rear face constituted by a rigid upsidedown U-shaped frame (1), by a resilient sheet (N) tensioned inside said frame, and by padding (5) of flexible material. The seat back includes three J-shaped metal section bars respectively constituting two uprights (7) and a top horizontal cross-member, together forming an upsidedown U-shape, the bars being welded to the frame, each opening of the J-shapes being occupied by an adjacent edge of a facing (6) that covers the padding (5), a horizontal metal bar welded to the bottom of the frame, a flexible panel (10) bounded laterally by two hems (12) and along the top by a horizontal line of stitching to the facing, and two L-shaped metal rods (17) each comprising a vertical length (17.sub.1) received in a corresponding one of the two hems, which length has its top end fixed to the cross-member, and a horizontal bottom length which is fixed to the bar.

Back of vehicle seats

A vehicle seat is disclosed with built-in safety belt (5). The framework of the seat-back comprises a vertical, laterally located beam (7) which is very resistant to flexional forces and carries the upper anchorage point P of the belt and a lower cross-piece (8) fixed to the base of the beam and sufficiently resistant to prevent transverse inclination of this beam. A strut (10) has its ends mounted for pivoting, respectively, about a transverse axis B linked to the front of the base (1) and about a transverse axis C forming part of the beam. Axis C is disposed at a distance, from the transverse pivoting axis A of the seat-back (4), which is less than 1/6 of the distance separating this axis A from the upper anchorage point P of the belt. The position of axis C about axis A is adjustable.

Vehicle seats with built-in safety belt

A tiltable and height- adjustable seat for a vehicle with three doors, said seat comprising two front racks, two rear racks, two front pinions cooperating with the front racks, two rear pinions cooperating with the rear racks, two cross-rods respectively fastening the two front pinions and the two rear pinions and supporting the sitting portion and an actuating knob connected angularly to one at least of the pairs of pinions. The tilting axle of the seat is rigidly connected to the base and to the backrest, the front racks are mounted pivotably around an axle joined rigidly to the base, the rear axles are fast to the backrest and the axle of the two front pinions is joined to the axle of the two rear pinions by a rigid cross-piece.

Tiltable seats for vehicles

The invention relates to a seat with a headrest adjustable in height and in slope for which the framework (2) of the headrest (1) is mounted on that (8) of the seat back (9) of the seat by two parallel pins (4, 5) fixed to this framework of the headrest and adapted for sliding vertically in complementary housings (6, 7) fixed to the framework of the seat back. The framework of the headrest is mounted for pivoting about respectively two transverse horizontal axes (bars 11 and 13) offset longitudinally with respect to each other and connected respectively to the two pins (4, 5) and means operable by the person sitting in the seat are provided for controlling at will either the simultaneous and identical vertical sliding of the two pins or the vertical sliding of one only of these two pins.

Adjustable headrests and to seats equipped with such headrests

A vehicle seat equipped with at least one mechanism for adjusting the height of the front or of the rear of the sitting portion or the tilt of the seat back. The control lever of this mechanism is brought forward to the front of the seat and its rotations are transmitted by a chain and toothed-wheel system to a bar equipped at both ends with rollers having two pins adapted to coact respectively with horizontal apertures in the sitting portion and with vertical sets of teeth in the base. The preferred application of the invention is to seats mounted so that no space is available laterally for the usual control members of the adjustment mechanisms.

Adjustable vehicle seats and their adjustment mechanisms

To enable the inclination of the metal framework of a seat-back of a vehicle seat to be adjusted with respect to the metal framework of the seat-bottom of this seat, elements of these two frameworks are constituted in the form of curvilinear sectional bars (6, 7) nestable contiguously in one another and centered on the same transverse horizontal axis positioned close to the pivoting axis of the hips of a person sitting on the seat and an adjusting and locking mechanism (13, 14) is provided enabling the degree of mutual fitting into one another of these sectional bars to be adjusted as desired.

Seats with an adjustable-tilt back-rest

The invention relates to a vehicle seat whose frame is formed by a shell made from moulded plastic material. This shell is formed from two half-shells, one for the sitting portion 1 and one for the seat back 4 and these two half-shells comprise complementary slide elements 10-13 adapted to slide against each other and centered on the same transverse horizontal axis disposed in the vicinity of the pivoting axis of the hips of the person sitting in the seat, these elements being associated with a mechanism 18, 19 for adjusting and locking their mutual sliding positions.

Vehicle seats comprising a shell-shaped frame

A sliding runner of a particular specified type and supporting a motor vehicle seat is provided with an anchor for the lower end of a safety belt for a passenger on the seat. The sliding runner is one having a lower generally channel section member attached to the vehicle floor and an upper generally inverted channel section member which interfits with the lower channel section member, the upper and lower members co-operating by way of ball races to facilitate movement of the upper member along the lower. The said upper member has secured thereto a jaw member which provides an anchorage for the lower end of a safety belt and which embraces the engaging portions of the said upper and lower members so as to be slidable with the said upper member while resisting disengagement from the sliding runner and hence providing a reliable anchorage for the safety belt.
