An alignment device for a tibial resection guide includes a clamping device having at least two clamping elements acting against one another for clamping the distal end of a tibia of a patient. A contact device for contacting the proximal end of the tibia includes a tool guiding device for guiding a tool during the resection of the tibia. A telescopic device is separably connected to the contact device and adjustably connected to the clamping device. The telescopic device is designed to align the contact device and clamping device with respect to the tibia. The telescopic device has a decoupling device configured to separate the contact device from the telescopic device when activated. The clamping elements are designed such that the telescopic device can be removed from the tibia with one hand after the decoupling device is activated.

Alignment device for a tibial resection guide

The present invention relates to a medical instrumentation for implanting an acetabular cup, comprising at least one medical guiding instrument for a first reaming tool, wherein the guiding instrument comprises a shaped body, wherein the shaped body has a patient-specific bone abutment surface facing in the distal direction and deviating from a spherical surface section, wherein the bone abutment surface is shaped so as to correspond or substantially correspond to a bone surface of the patient, and wherein a guiding shaft, defining a longitudinal axis, for guiding the first reaming tool protrudes from the shaped body and faces in the proximal direction.

Medical instrumentation

The present invention provides a uni-compartmental knee joint prosthesis () which includes a tibial component () and a femoral component (). The tibial component () has a fixation portion () adapted to be fixed to an upper end of a prepared tibia (T) in a patient, and a bearing portion () presenting an articulation surface () formed from a ceramic material, wherein the bearing portion () is adapted for movement relative to the fixation portion (). The femoral component () is adapted to be fixed to a lower end of a prepared femur (F) in a patient, and comprises a body portion () presenting an articulation surface () formed from a ceramic material for engagement with the articulation surface () of the tibial component (). The articulation surfaces () of the tibial and femoral components are adapted for essentially congruent engagement over a full range of movement of the prosthesis.

Knee joint prosthesis and related method

The present invention relates to a knee joint prosthesis having a tibial component and a femoral component. The tibial component includes a fixation portion fixed to an upper end of a prepared tibia and a ceramic bearing portion presenting articulation surface(s). The femoral component is fixed to a lower end of a prepared femur and comprises a ceramic body portion presenting articulation surface(s). The respective articulation surfaces of the tibial and femoral components are configured for essentially congruent engagement over a full range of movement of the prosthesis, and the bearing portion of the tibial component is adapted for movement relative to the fixation portion. Also disclosed is an apparatus and a method for finishing articulation surfaces of ceramic components of a knee joint prosthesis, including the steps of combining the ceramic bearing portion and the ceramic body portion, and imparting relative movement to the bearing portion and/or the body portion.
