An air conditioner comprises an outdoor unit including a compressor and an outdoor heat exchanger; and an indoor unit connected to the outdoor unit by a gas pipe and a liquid pipe and having an indoor heat exchanger including a first coil and a second coil branched from the gas pipe and connected in parallel, a first manifold and a second manifold connected by refrigerant pipes to enable refrigerant to flow to the indoor heat exchanger, a first expansion valve and a second expansion valve connected in parallel to the liquid pipe and that block or expand the refrigerant, refrigerant flow pipes connecting a gas pipe side of the first manifold and an outlet side of the second expansion valve, a third expansion valve installed on the refrigerant flow pipe to block or expand the refrigerant, and a control valve installed on the gas pipe to block the refrigerant.

Air conditioner and method for controlling same

An air conditioner may include a case having a supply channel therein through which external air flows into an interior space; a first heat exchanger disposed on the supply channel and in which the air and refrigerant exchange heat; a second heat exchanger disposed at a downstream side of the first heat exchanger in the supply channel, and in which the air and refrigerant exchange heat; and a refrigerant distributor that sends refrigerant to the first heat exchanger or the second heat exchanger. The refrigerant distributor may include a liquid pipe connected with the first heat exchanger and through which liquid-state refrigerant flows; a first gas pipe connected to the first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger and through which gas-state refrigerant flows; a second gas pipe through which gas-state refrigerant discharged from the first heat exchanger flows; a first gas pipe valve disposed on the first gas pipe and that sends refrigerant flowing through the first gas pipe to the first heat exchanger or the second heat exchanger; and a second gas pipe valve disposed on the second gas pipe and that opens and closes the second gas pipe.

Air conditioner

An air conditioner may include an outdoor unit including a compressor and an outdoor heat exchanger configured to heat exchange compressed refrigerant; an indoor unit having an air inlet and an air outlet and connected with the outdoor unit through a first pipe through which refrigerant discharged from the compressor flows and a second pipe through which refrigerant discharged from the outdoor heat exchanger flows; a blowing fan disposed in the indoor unit; a main heat exchanger configured to heat exchange air, which flows inside through the air inlet, and connected with the second pipe; a reheat exchanger disposed downstream of the main heat exchanger and connected with the first pipe; and a waste heat exchanger disposed upstream of the main heat exchanger and configured to heat-exchange air, which flows inside through the air inlet, and condensate water, which is produced at the main heat exchanger, with each other. Accordingly, air flowing inside through the air inlet is primarily cooled before exchanging heat through the main heat exchanger, whereby the cooling and dehumidifying performance is improved.

A micro channel type heat exchanger in which a first heat exchange module and a second heat exchange module are stacked, the micro channel type heat exchanger including a plurality of flat tubes disposed within the first heat exchange module and the second heat exchange module, and a heat blocking member configured to form a heat blocking space by separating the first heat exchange module and the second heat exchange module, wherein the heat blocking member forms a heat blocking space between the first heat exchange module and the second heat exchange module that minimizes heat conductivity and improves thermal exchange performance of the heat exchanger.

Micro channel type heat exchanger

A micro channel type heat exchanger having a first pass disposed in some flat tubes located in a first heat exchange module and along which a refrigerant flows in one direction, a second pass disposed in some of the remaining flat tubes located in the first heat exchange module and along which the refrigerant supplied from the first pass flows in an opposite direction to that of the first pass, a third pass distributed and located in the remainder of flat tubes located in the first heat exchange module other than the first pass and the second pass and in some flat tubes located in a second heat exchange module, and a fourth pass disposed in the remainder of the flat tubes located in the second heat exchange module and along which a refrigerant supplied from the third pass flows in an opposite direction to a direction of the third pass.

An air conditioning system that includes at least one indoor unit that uses water as a working fluid, an outdoor unit that uses a refrigerant as a working fluid, the outdoor unit including a compressor compressing the refrigerant and an outdoor heat exchanger for heat-exchange with the refrigerant, and a heat collection unit connecting the at least one indoor unit to the outdoor unit, the heat collection unit including at least one heat exchange part for heat-exchanging water supplied from the at least one indoor unit with the refrigerant supplied from the outdoor unit.

An air conditioner and a method for controlling an air conditioner are provided that efficiently inject a refrigerant into a compressor. The air conditioner may include a compressor to compress a refrigerant; a condenser to condense the refrigerant compressed at the compressor; an evaporator to evaporate the refrigerant condensed at the condenser; and an injection module to selectively or simultaneously inject some or a portion of the refrigerant flowing from the condenser to the evaporator into a high pressure side and a low pressure side of the compressor.

An air conditioner and a method for controlling an air conditioner are provided that inject a refrigerant into a compressor to perform a defrosting operation. The air conditioner may include a compressor; an outdoor heat exchanger; an indoor heat exchanger; a first injection module that injects a refrigerant flowing from the indoor heat exchanger to the outdoor heat exchanger into the compressor during a heating operation and that does not inject a refrigerant flowing from the outdoor heat exchanger to the indoor heat exchanger into the compressor during a defrosting operation; and a second injection module that injects a refrigerant flowing from the indoor heat exchanger to the outdoor heat exchanger into the compressor during the heating operation and that injects a refrigerant flowing from the outdoor heat exchanger to the indoor heat exchanger into the compressor during the defrosting operation.

Air conditioner with two injection circuits and method of controlling the air conditioner

A scroll compressor and an air conditioner including a scroll compressor are provided. The scroll compressor may include a main frame configured to support an upper portion of a rotating shaft; a fixed scroll coupled to the main frame and having a first wrap; an orbiting scroll provided to perform an orbiting motion with respect to the fixed scroll and having a second wrap which forms a plurality of compressions chamber between the first wrap and the second wrap; a suction port configured to enable a first refrigerant to be suctioned into the compression chamber; a first introduction port provided at a first side of the fixed scroll and configured to inject the first refrigerant into the plurality of compression chambers; a second introduction port provided at a second side of the fixed scroll and configured to inject a second refrigerant having a pressure different from a pressure of the first refrigerant into the plurality of compression chambers; and a third introduction port provided at a third side of the fixed scroll and configured to inject a third refrigerant having a pressure different from the pressure of the first refrigerant and the second refrigerant into the compression chamber. The first introduction port may be provided at a position at which injecting of the refrigerant through the first introduction port is able to be performed before suctioning of the refrigerant through the suction port is completed.

Scroll compressor and air conditioner including a scroll compressor

An air conditioner includes a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, an indoor heat exchanger, a converting unit, a first injection module, and a second injection module. The first injection module injects a portion of refrigerant flowing from the indoor heat exchanger to the outdoor heat exchanger to the compressor in a heating operation and supercools refrigerant flowing from the outdoor heat exchanger to the indoor heat exchanger in a cooling operation. The second injection module injects a portion of refrigerant flowing from the indoor heat exchanger to the outdoor heat exchanger to the compressor in the heating operation and injects refrigerant flowing from the outdoor heat exchanger to the indoor heat exchanger to the compressor in the cooling operation.

An air conditioner is provided. The air conditioner includes a compressor having a suction unit and a plurality of injection inlets, an inside heat exchanger into which refrigerant compressed in the compressor is introduced during a heating operation, an outside heat exchanger into which refrigerant compressed in the compressor is introduced during a cooling operation, a plurality of refrigerant separation devices through which refrigerant condensed in the inside heat exchanger or the outside heat exchanger pass, a plurality of injection flow paths which extends from the three refrigerant separation devices to the plurality of injection inlets, and a bypass flow path which extends from any one injection flow path among the plurality of injection flow paths to the suction unit of the compressor.

Provided are a supercooler and an air conditioner including the same. The supercooler disposed between a condenser and an evaporator of an air conditioner to supercool a refrigerant condensed in the condenser, thereby allowing the supercooled refrigerant to flow into the evaporator includes an inner tube in which a first refrigerant passing through the condenser flows, an outer tube having an inner space in which the inner tube is disposed, the outer tube allowing a second refrigerant heat-exchanged with the first refrigerant to flow by using the inner tube as a boundary, and a baffle supporting the inner tube to prevent the inner tube from being shaken within the outer tube.

Subcooler and air conditioner including the same

An air conditioner and a method of controlling the same are provided. The air conditioner includes first and second compressors capable of performing multi-stage compression, a condenser for condensing a refrigerant compressed in the first and second compressors, a refrigerant separation device for separating the refrigerant to be injected to the first or second compressor of the refrigerant condensed in the condenser, injection tubes extending from the refrigerant separation device to the first and second compressors to guide injection of the refrigerant, a main expansion device disposed at an outlet-side of the refrigerant separation device to decompress the refrigerant, an evaporator for evaporating the refrigerant decompressed in the main expansion device, a valve device disposed at an outlet-side of the first compressor to guide the refrigerant compressed in the first compressor to the condenser or the second compressor, and a bypass tube extending from the valve device to an suction-side of the second compressor.

Air conditioner and method of controlling the same

An air conditioner includes a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, an indoor heat exchanger, a converting unit, an accumulator, and injection module, a supercooling valve, and an injection valve. The injection module expands and vaporizes a portion of refrigerant flowing from the indoor heat exchanger to the outdoor heat exchanger in the heating operation. The supercooling valve is disposed between the injection module and the accumulator and is opened to direct the portion of the refrigerant vaporized in the injection module to the accumulator in the heating operation and then closed after a predetermined time passes. The injection valve is disposed between the injection module and the compressor and is opened when the supercooling valve is closed in the heating operation, thereby injecting the portion of the refrigerant vaporized in the injection module to the compressor.

A scroll compressor and an air conditioner including a scroll compressor are provided. The scroll compressor may include a casing, a fixed scroll, an orbiting scroll, and an injection passage. The fixed scroll may further include a first injection hole and a second injection hole formed on a spiral flow passage, and a third injection hole and a fourth injection hole formed on the spiral flow passage at a position inwardly rotated by about 360 degrees from the first injection hole and the second injection hole along the spiral flow passage. The first injection hole and the third injection hole may be formed on an outer lane of the spiral flow passage, and the second injection hole and the fourth injection hole may be formed on an inner lane of the spiral flow passage.
