The present invention relates to a method and system of extracting an oil from an oil-containing raw material comprising the steps of providing a non-crushed oil-containing raw material, and treating the non-crushed oil-containing raw material. The treatment is performed by exposing the oil-containing raw material to vacuum, wherein the vacuum defines an absolute pressure of between 1 mm Hg and 150 mm Hg, and a temperature of between 0° C. and 45° C., and by subjecting the oil-containing raw material to crushing, simultaneously and/or subsequently to the step of exposing the oil-containing raw material to the vacuum, to provide a treated oil-containing raw material. By the method and system, high yield of oil with high quality can be obtained.

Method and system for extracting an oil from an oil-containing raw material

Disclosed is a process for de-acidification of fats and oils, to obtain micronutrients, to obtain a fatty acid product, and recovery of refined oils, comprising: feeding pre-treated oil feed stream to a vacuum steam stripping section, stripping off volatile phases. Feeding the stripped off the volatile phases to a condensing stage providing a condensed phase and a vapour phase. Sending the condensed phase to a vacuum distillation operation and sending the vapour phase to a cold condensation stage. Subjecting the condensed phase to a vacuum distillation operation, and obtaining a high temperature distillate and a stream of volatiles. Feeding the vapour phase from the high temperature condensing stage along with the stream of volatiles from the vacuum distillation operation to the cold condensation stage obtaining a stream of non-condensable gases and a cold temperature distillate, letting the stream of non-condensable gases continue to a vacuum system, and recovering from the vacuum steam stripping section a stream of refined oil.

Process for treating fats and oils

The invention relates to method for deacidification of fats and oils comprising: feeding stream () to a stripping section; condensing the volatile phase in a high temperature condensing zone, sending the condensed phase to distillation A; distillating the condensed phase, obtaining a volatile stream; passing the volatile stream along with the vapor phase from the condensation zone to a cold condensation zone obtaining a condensate and a stream (); allowing stream () to continue to vacuum system and subjecting the cold condensate to distillation B; and producing a stream of fatty acids () and a stream of micronutrients ().

Deacidification of fats and oils

The present invention relates to a process for isolation of micronutrients from deodorizer distillate comprising free fatty acids, the process comprises the following steps: (i) treating the deodorizer distillate in an esterification step with glycerol, which esterification step is autocatalyzed, producing a feedstock of acyl glycerides, and discharging excess of glycerol and produced water; (ii) transferring the feedstock of acyl glycerides having a water content less than 1500 ppm and a free fatty acid content less than 3 wt % to a transesterification step and treating the feedstock of acyl glycerides with methanol to produce a crude biodiesel product; and (iii) refining the crude biodiesel product in a distillation step, and separating the crude biodiesel product into three fractions 1) fatty acid methyl esters, 2) micronutrient rich product comprising tocopherol, and 3) light hydrocarbons.
