Safety device for a lithium electrochemical generator battery

An electrochemical storage cell retention system is provided for storage cells () with a container comprising a bottom portion (), and a top portion () provided with electrical output terminals (). The system comprises a first tray member () provided with through openings () and a plurality of adapter cups (), each adapter cup () being designed to be placed on the top portion () of a storage cell () and to be received in one of the through openings () of the first tray member. The retention system is modular and mechanically strong.
