In this element, one of the current flow electrodes of the transistor and the lower electrode of the diode form a common layer. According to the invention, the transistor includes what is called a 'contact' zone made of semiconductor material which is placed between at least one of its current flow electrodes and its active zone made of semiconductor material and which is doped with one or more dopants, which are electron donors or electron acceptors.

Organic light-emitting diode comprising a lower electrode and an upper electrode, an organic electroluminescent layer and at least one doped organic layer in contact with one of said electrodes. According to the invention, the doping level of this organic layer is higher at the interface with the electrode than in the core of this layer. Thanks to the invention, the luminous efficiency of the diode is very substantially improved.

At least one of the upper electrodes of the panel is common to a plurality of diodes and comprises a first conducting layer and a second conducting layer, with a transparent insulating buffer layer interposed between these two conducting layers and which is pierced by windows that provide direct contact zones for direct contact between these two conducting layers of this common electrode, these contact zones being separate from the active zones of the diodes. Thanks to the direct contact zones between the two conducting layers, the upper electrode ensures good distribution of the current, while the intermediate buffer layer is insulating.

In this display, an upper electrical insulation layer covers the active matrix; each electrooptic element comprises a lower supply electrode that is applied to this insulation layer. According to the invention, this lower electrode includes an organic conducting layer applied directly to said insulation layer and a metal layer covering the organic conducting layer. Such a structure makes it possible to optimize both planarization and light extraction by an optical cavity effect thereby improving the performance of the display.
