The invention relates to a smoke analysis characterization cell employing optical spectroscopy, which comprises: a reaction chamber, an inlet orifice for injecting smoke into the reaction chamber; an outlet orifice for discharging the smoke from the reaction chamber; and an analysis window for the entry of a laser beam intended to form the plasma inside the reaction chamber, which cell is characterized in that the system further includes a blower for blowing an inert gas close to the analysis window; and a shielding gas injector for the shielded injection of the smoke into the reaction chamber, the shielding being provided by a jet of inert gas around the smoke.

A method is followed to prepare a powder that includes carbon, silicon and boron, the silicon being in silicon carbide form and the boron being in boron carbide and/or free boron form. The method includes contacting a carbon-based precursor, a silicon-based precursor and a boron-based precursor BX3, X being a halogen atom, to obtain a mixture of these three precursors. The resulting mixture is subjected to laser pyrolysis. The boron-based precursor BX3 is heated, prior to the contacting step and/or simultaneously with the contacting step, to a temperature higher than the condensation temperature of the precursor.

A system and process for production of nanometric or sub-micrometric powders in continuous flux under the action of laser pyrolysis in at least one interaction zone between a beam emitted by a laser and a flux of reagents emitted by an injector, in which the laser is followed by optical means for distributing the energy of the beam emitted by the latter according to an axis perpendicular to the axis of each flux of reagents, in an elongated cross-section having adjustable dimensions at the level of this at least one interaction zone.

Production of nanometric or sub-micrometric powders in continuous flux

A device for recovering nanometer or sub-micron particles carried by a gas by generating a stabilized suspension, including: a vessel including a mechanism injecting a liquid; a gas discharge mechanism in an upper portion thereof, located near a particle filter; a particle suspension outlet; and a liquid ring pump, transferring and dispersing particles carried by a gas into a liquid. The pump introduces a gas laden with nanometer or sub-micron particles into the pump; injects at least one liquid into the pump; and discharges the mixture obtained following the transfer. The vessel also includes a mechanism introducing the mixture into the vessel and at least one piezoelectric pellet, immersed in the vessel, configured to generate a fog of micron-sized droplets.

Device for recovering nanopowders and ultrafine powders contained in a gas

The invention relates to a gas phase method for producing nanometric particles in a reactor for producing particles in a gas phase, in which there is an interaction between a reaction flow and an energy flow. This method comprises the following steps: a step for coupling a device for producing gaseous chlorides with this reactor, a step for producing gaseous chlorides from a base precursor in the form of powders, and a step for injecting such a reaction flow into the reactor.
