A method, apparatus and computer program is described comprising: providing a filtered transmit signal for transmission using a transmit forward path of a transmitter of a mobile communication system; receiving a receive signal using a wideband transmit feedback path of the transmitter of the mobile communication system; generating an estimate of a transfer function of the transmit forward path; and calculating a filter function for compensating for said estimated transfer function of the transmit forward path.

Group delay compensation

According to an aspect, there is provided an apparatus for a first terminal device. The apparatus is configured to perform the following. The apparatus transmits () a first uplink reference signal at a first transmission time instance measured according to a local reference clock of the first terminal device. The apparatus applies () a frequency shift to a frequency of the local reference clock at a frequency-shift time instance measured according to the local reference clock and following the first transmission time instance. Based on the first transmission time instance, a second transmission time instance for an upcoming transmission of a second uplink reference signal, the frequency shift and the frequency-shift time instance, the apparatus calculates () a shift of transmission timing for the upcoming transmission. The apparatus applies () the shift of transmission timing to the second transmission time instance and thereafter transmits () the second uplink reference signal at the second time instance.

Position estimation

Certain examples of the present invention relate to carrier management in a wireless communication network. Certain examples provide a User Equipment, UE, comprising: means for receiving, following a maximum permissible exposure, MPE, event occurring during operation over a first carrier such that the UE is no longer operating over the first carrier, a first signal, over a second carrier, for configuring the UE to determine a status of the MPE event associated with the previously used first carrier; means for determining, responsive to receipt of the first signal, a current status of the MPE event associated with the previously used first carrier; and means for transmitting, responsive to receipt of the first signal, a second signal over the second carrier, wherein the second signal comprises an indication of the current status of the MPE event associated with the previously used first carrier.

Carrier management in a wireless communication network

An apparatus including: circuitry for receiving reference signals including a plurality of channel synchronization signal blocks and/or state information reference signals on a downlink channel; circuitry for measuring received signal power and/or quality level of said reference signals; circuitry for estimating arrival directions or an arrival antenna panel for a plurality of beams associated with said reference signals; circuitry for estimating, based on at least the received signal power and/or quality level, a required transmission power for a random access channel preamble for each beam; circuitry for selecting, in response to detecting a failure of a serving beam, another of said beams according to spatial diversity and/or required transmission power; and circuitry for sending the random access channel preamble on the selected beam.

Method for beam recovery based on spatial diversity or transmission power

A method, apparatus and computer readable medium are provided for determining position information of a receiver device. The method includes determining a plurality of beams and combining received multipath signals from the plurality of the beams. The received multipath signals are generated by a transmitter device. The method also includes determining, based at least in part on the combined received multipath signals, a line of sight signal and determining, based at least in part on the line of sight signal, position information of a receiver device.

Positioning using a line-of-sight signal

An apparatus may include circuitry configured for providing first data indicative of a first relative angle-of-arrival measurement between a first base station and a second base station, from the position of a user device, based on angle-of-arrival measurements. The apparatus may also include circuitry configured for providing second data indicative of first and second angle-of-departure measurements, each measurement indicative of an angle between the user device and the other base station of the first set of base stations from the position of the respective first and second base stations based on a plurality of beams transmitted from the respective base station to the user device. In accordance with an embodiment, there is disclosed a method including receiving positioning reference signals from a positioning signal transmitter; forming a delay search space from the received positioning reference signals to obtain a plurality of channel taps; estimating a noise precision for the channel taps; estimating channel gains for the channel taps; and estimating a probability of line of sight signal for the channel taps.
