An antifriction bearing, in which the outer ring is supported in the bore of a rotating machine part and secured by a retaining ring against axial displacement. The retaining ring is snapped into a circumferential groove of the bore and is supported, freely movable towards the outside in the radial direction, in the axial direction on the side of a conical surface facing away from the inner ring. By this structure, the axial contact pressure of a gasket of a polymeric material, which is disposed between the retaining ring and the radial antifriction bearing, and which bridges the gap between the outer ring and the inner ring of the antifriction bearing, increases as the rotational speed increases.

Antifriction bearing

A flywheel assembly having a first flywheel ring joined to the drive shaft and a second flywheel ring joined to the driven shaft, the two rings being mounted concentrically one inside the other for relative rotation. A spring and a damping system are provided parallel to one another between the first and second flywheel ring to inhibit relative rotation. The damping system is provided with a disengaging device by which its damping action is disabled, such that the spring alone is active, in the event of a relative rotation of more than 30.degree..

Flywheel assembly

A flywheel has first and second axially-spaced, coaxial flyrings. At least one resilient element connects the flyrings for permitting relative rotational displacement therebetween. A damping device also connects the flyrings operatively in parallel with the resilient element for impeding the relative rotational displacement of the flyrings permitted thereby after some, lost relative rotational displacement up to about .+-.30.degree..

Flywheel

An elastic axial-rotation coupler has two inelastic devices for respective, inelastic connection to the two axially-rotatable structures, one of the devices defining an annular chamber therein. The annular chamber is closed axially and radially outwardly by the inelastic device defining it. At least one resilient element is in the annular chamber and connected to each device for rotatably coupling them resiliently and, thereby, so coupling the axially-rotatable structures which can be connected to the devices. The resilient element preferably is a rubber-elastic body. At least when the structures axially rotate the devices, a liquid is also in the annular chamber for impinging on the resilient element where the centrifugal force of its rotation with the devices would distort it. The liquid preferably has substantially the same density as the resilient element.

Elastic axial-rotation coupler

A vibration damper for bodies which extend substantially parallel to one another, consisting of a clip made of a permanently elastic material and adapted to be slipped undislodgeably onto one of the bodies, and of at least two lugs projecting therefrom in the direction of at least one further body which clasp the latter with elastic initial tension, permitting relative displacement.

A resilient coupling for use between two, relatively-movable machine parts has a resilient body and an integral projection jutting out from the profile of the resilient body. A surface of the resilient body is arranged for joining, for example, adhesively, to one machine part and a surface of the projection arranged for joining, for example adhesively, to the other machine part, the jut of the projection and its surface for joining to the machine part preferably being perpendicular to each other.

Rubber coupling

A process of producing a resilient coupling in a clearance space between two, relatively-movable elements with a polymeric material introduces the polymeric material contactingly into a clearance space between the elements. A portion of the polymeric material is softened at least while in contact with the clearance-space surface for adhesion when solidified thereafter into a resilient body for the coupling, but a portion of the clearance-space surface is arranged to prevent adhesion. The combination provides coupling with guidance of the relative motion.
