The present disclosure is directed to an adjustable-incline climbing wall. The climbing wall comprises a climbing surface and a system for adjusting the climbing surface to a desired incline. By positioning the pivot point for the climbing surface in front of the bottom edge of the climbing surface, embodiments of the climbing wall minimize or eliminate the unusable 'dead space' at the bottom of the climbing surface that is created when conventional adjustable climbing walls are placed at higher angles of incline. Moreover, by angling the legs of the support structure outward, embodiments of the climbing wall provide for an extended fall area that is free from obstructions, providing enhanced climber safety. Finally, embodiments of the climbing wall are freestanding structures, which are easily installable in a climber's home or personal gym without damage to floors or walls.

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to an adjustable-incline climbing wall. The climbing wall comprises one or more climbing panels supported by a frame and a system for adjusting the incline of the frame to provide a climbing wall of a desired incline. The incline of the climbing wall may be adjusted by activating an actuator, which extends the upper portion of the frame a distance from a support wall, tilting the climbing wall to a desired incline. When the climbing wall is substantially vertically oriented, the system for adjusting the incline of the climbing wall may extend only a small distance from the support wall so that the adjustable-incline climbing wall has a relatively small footprint. In some embodiments, the climbing wall may also include one or more fitness accessories that can brought to an optimal height for a particular user through adjustment of the climbing wall incline.

Further, by providing a plurality of attachment points between the actuator and the frame (and/or between the actuator and a support), the adjustable-incline climbing wall may be provided with a wider range of incline angles, as well as increased control over those angles.

An example climbing wall includes: a frame; a plurality of climbing panels connected to the frame; and a plurality of holds, each of the plurality of holds connected to at least one of the plurality of climbing panels with a t-nut, the t-nut including: a flange in contact with the at least one plurality of climbing panels, and a plurality of splines embedded within the at least one climbing panels.
