An implantable electronic device includes a flexible circuit board, one or more circuit components attached to the flexible circuit board and configured to convert electrical energy into electrical pulses, and one or more electrodes attached to the flexible circuit board without cables connecting the electrodes to each other or to the flexible circuit board, the one or more electrodes configured to apply the electrical pulses to a tissue adjacent the implantable electronic device.

A method of manufacturing an implantable stimulation device includes providing a circuit board of the implantable stimulation device, the circuit board optionally equipped with circuit components and being electrically connected to an antenna, adhering one or more electrodes to the circuit board, and applying an insulation material to the circuit board such that the insulation material forms a housing that surrounds the circuit board, the optional circuit components and antenna, while leaving the one or more electrodes exposed for stimulating a tissue.

Manufacturing implantable tissue stimulators

A method of securing an antenna assembly to a wearable article includes positioning a template carrying a first antenna at a desired position on the wearable article worn on a body of a patient. The desired position is in proximity to a wireless tissue stimulator implanted within the body. The method further includes marking a location of the desired position of the template against the wearable article, securing a first attachment feature to the wearable article at a mark located at the desired position, and attaching the antenna assembly to the wearable article at the first attachment feature. The antenna assembly includes a second antenna configured to send a signal carrying electrical energy to the wireless tissue stimulator and a housing carrying the second antenna. The housing includes a second attachment feature configured to engage the first attachment feature for positioning the second antenna adjacent the body.

Securing antennas to wearable articles

A method of manufacturing an implantable stimulation device includes providing a circuit board of the implantable stimulation device, the circuit board being equipped with circuit components and an antenna, adhering one or more electrodes to the circuit board, and applying an insulation material to the circuit board such that the insulation material forms a housing that surrounds the circuit board, the circuit components, and the antenna, while leaving the one or more electrodes exposed for stimulating a tissue.

An antenna assembly includes a band having an interior layer and an exterior layer, and configured to be wrapped around a portion of a user's body such that the interior layer faces a user's body. A locking assembly includes a first locking portion and a second locking portion, the first and second locking portions being configured to engage one another to secure the band about the user's body. An antenna is positioned between the interior and the exterior layers. A docking port is positioned between the interior and the exterior layers. A circuitry housing is received in the docking port and includes a printed circuit board and a battery. A connector has a first end connected to the printed circuit board and a second end connected to the antenna.

Antenna assembly

Some implementations provide a method for implanting a neurostimulator system that includes: placing an introducer through an incision site on a patient into an epidural space of the patient, the introducer including a sheath and the patient having a primary area of pain; placing a neurostimulator system through the introducer into the epidural space of the patient, the neurostimulator system comprising an enclosure housing at least one pair of electrodes and at least one passive antenna; advancing the neurostimulator system through the epidural space such that the electrodes are placed at a targeted tissue of the patient; removing the introducer sheath from the epidural space of the patient; adjusting the neurostimulator system enclosure to leave a customized length of the device body enclosure in the epidural space; and anchoring the customized length of the neurostimulator system enclosure in tissue of the patient.
