In a method and magnetic resonance apparatus for reconstructing an MR image of a volume segment within an examination object, MR data within the volume segment are acquired according to a separation method by MR data for a k-space line being acquired respectively in steps while a readout gradient is activated in the same readout direction. An image of a first substance and an image of a second substance are thereby reconstructed. A shift length, by which the image of the first substance and the image of the second substance are displaced relative to one another due to the chemical shift in the readout direction is determined. The image of the first substance and/or the image of the second substance is shifted as a function of the shift length, to compensate for the relative displacement between the images of the first and second substances in the readout direction due to the chemical shift. An MR image is generated by combining the images of the first and second substances.

In a method and apparatus for magnetic resonance imaging, in order to improve saturation of magnetic resonance signals during an acquisition sequence, the acquisition sequence includes at least one acquisition cycle, that includes: a preparation pulse set with a number of preparation pulses, a saturation pulse set that is disjoint from the preparation pulse set, with a number of saturation pulses, and a readout block set with a number of readout blocks. The acquisition cycle is temporally divided into a preparation phase and a readout phase, wherein the readout phase is temporally delimited from the preparation phase, and the readout phase follows the preparation phase in the acquisition cycle, and wherein the preparation phase includes at least one preparation pulse of the preparation pulse set, at least one saturation pulse of the saturation pulse set and no readout block of the readout block set, and the readout phase includes at least one saturation pulse of the saturation pulse set and at least one readout block of the readout block set.

A method for shimming a magnetic field in a magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) device includes determining a field of view region for an object under examination. Determining the field of view region includes adapting the field of view region automatically to a region of the object under examination to be examined by the MRT device. Before the MRT device records an image, an adjustment measurement of the magnetic field is performed. A field map of the magnetic field of the field of view region is defined based on the adjustment measurement. A shimming of the magnetic field is implemented based on the field map.

Automatic positioning and adaptation in an adjustment for a shim field map

A method includes recording a magnetic resonance (MR) spectrum with the aid of a high frequency (HF) coil and a magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) device. A static magnetic field results in a recording volume of the MRT device. The method also includes an automatic analysis of the MR spectrum by searching for two resonant signals in the form of a fat peak, a water peak, and a minimum between the fat peak and the water peak. Such an automatic analysis is used for an automatic decision as a function of a predeterminable criterion, as to whether a series, including a plurality of acts, or a single act is performed. The homogeneity of the static magnetic field is adjusted with the aid of at least one shim coil of the MRT device, and an HF pulse is calculated for fat saturation as a function of the result of the search.

In a magnetic resonance apparatus and method for RF excitation with two resonance frequencies to detect the CEST effect, the RF excitation is achieved with the use of a first RF antenna and a second RF antenna of the magnetic resonance apparatus with a first portion of the RF excitation at a first resonance frequency of the two resonance frequencies being implemented with the first RF antenna, and a second portion of the RF excitation at a second resonance frequency of the two resonance frequencies is implemented with the second RF antenna.
