Jaw assembly for a rivet setting tool

A power tool including a shroud for restricting the path of debris generated by a rotatable cutting disc and defining a shroud outlet opening through which the debris can be sucked by a vacuum device. The debris enters a sub-volume along a first axis and exits the sub-volume along a second axis in a different plane. A conduit having a curved wall defines the sub-volume such that debris travelling therethough undergoes a change in direction and exits the sub-volume along a direction substantially parallel with the second axis.

A power tool is provided comprising: a power source; a power tool housing comprising a first mechanical coupling connectable with a second reciprocal mechanical coupling on a power tool accessory; and a first electrical coupling in electrical connection with the power source and mounted on the first mechanical coupling. A pavement breaker has a housing, a hammer mechanism mounted within the housing, and at least one handle moveably mounted on the housing. The handle(s) can move in a vertical direction when the pavement breaker is orientated in its normal operation orientation. A sensor is mounted within the housing for detecting when the handle(s) is moved towards or at its uppermost position. If the sensor detects such handle position, the hammer mechanism is deactivated.

Pavement breaker

A power tool includes a rotatable support arrangement for supporting at least one cutting disc. An upper shroud member and a lower shroud member cooperate to define a volume in which the at least one cutting disc can be supported. The rotatable support arrangement can be coupled to the upper shroud member such that movement of the upper shroud member towards the lower shroud member causes the cutting disc to protrude through an opening in the lower shroud member. A biasing member urges the upper shroud member and the lower shroud member away from each other. A limiting mechanism limits the range of movement of the upper shroud member relative to the lower shroud member under action of the biasing member. The limiting mechanism can be disengaged by opening the upper shroud member via at least one hinge coupling.

The present invention relates to a method for controlling a power tool comprising a housing, an electric motor, a tool holder for supporting a tool bit and a conversion mechanism for converting the rotational movement of the output shaft of the motor into a reciprocating movement of the tool bit when being supporting in the tool holder, wherein oscillations of an element of the power tool are detected, wherein a quantity characterizing the oscillations is monitored and wherein the rotational speed of the electric motor is controlled such that the quantity does not exceed a preset value.
