Tube systems may include a tube with an inflatable balloon that is affixed to, and circumferentially surrounding an exterior portion of the tube. The inflatable balloon may be positioned between the first open end and the second open end of the tube. The tube may be flexible and hollow and may have a first open end and a second open end. The tube may include a suction line, a suction line port, and a spacer that extends from an exterior surface of the tube and is positioned proximate to the suction line port. The spacer may be configured to prevent occlusion of the suction line port.

Systems and devices for preventing occlusion of a suction line resident in a medical device

A suction device for use with a medical device may include a suction device body and an extension. The suction device body may include a first lumen positioned therein and including a plurality of holes. The extension may include a second lumen positioned therein and may be coupled to the suction device body and configured to facilitate connection of the suction device body to a suction line. The second lumen may be in communication with/open to the first lumen and the suction line may be adapted for connection to a pump configured to apply a negative pressure to the first and second lumens. The suction device may evacuate fluids and/or solids from a patient in an area proximate to the suction device.

Suction devices for medical devices and medical device systems including suction devices

Tracheal tube systems may include first and second tubes and an inflatable balloon. The first tube may be flexible and hollow and have first and second open ends. The inflatable balloon may be affixed to and circumferentially surround a portion of the first tube. The inflatable balloon may include an indentation sized and positioned to accommodate a portion of a second tube positioned therein, when the inflatable balloon is inflated. The second tube may be hollow and have a multiplicity of holes along a sidewall not in contact with the balloon. The second tube may be configured to be coupled to a suction device that creates a negative pressure in the second tube. When the tracheal tube system is inserted in a patient's trachea, the negative pressure in the second tube may act to remove, or suction out, fluids and other matter from the trachea.

Tracheal tube and suction device

In an embodiment, a tracheal tube system has a first tube, which is flexible. The tube has an opening that is located on the sidewalls. A balloon is attached to the flexible tube. When inflated, the balloon forms a second tube surrounding the first tube with an air space between the first wall of the balloon and the sidewalls of the first tube. The balloon extends covering the opening on the sidewall. Air flowing into the first tube exits, via the third opening into the airspace between the first tube and the balloon, out of the airspace. In another embodiment, the balloon has a tube with multiplicity of holes in the walls is wrapped around the outer wall of the balloon. Negative pressure in the third tube creates suction holding the outer wall of the balloon to walls of the trachea.

Tracheal tube

A method of altering the topography of a trailing edge of a slider is disclosed, the slider having a substrate surface, at least one magnetic recording head imbedded in an alumina undercoat, and a vertical axis relative to the substrate surface. The steps include first applying an alumina overcoat to at least the trailing edge, followed by lapping at least the trailing edge of the slider. The slider (or sliders) is then placed on a pallet that rotates, exposing the trailing edge to an ion beam. The ion beam is generated using an etchant gas such as Argon, or a mixture of gases such as Argon and Hydrogen, or Argon and CHF . The trailing edge (or trailing edges) are then exposed at least once to the ion beam at a predetermined milling angle and predetermined time, the milling angle being the angle made by the ion beam relative to the vertical axis. The milling angle is typically between 0&deg; and 85&deg;.
