A silencer for an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine includes a silencer housing which surrounds a silencer interior and which has at least two housing portions which are adjacent to each other in an abutment region. The two housing portions are connected to each other. The silencer housing has at least one housing opening formed therein and an outlet pipe extends through the silencer housing in the region of the housing opening. The housing opening is completely formed in one of the two housing portions.

Silencer for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine

A connection unit for connecting two exhaust gas-carrying assembly units of an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, includes a ring washer-shape connection element () with a connection side (), which is to be positioned to face a counter-connection element () to be connected to the connection element () or/and in contact with the counter-connection element (). A passage opening (), bordered by an inner circumferential surface () of the connection element (), receives a connection pipe (), which is inserted into the passage opening () and extends in the direction of a pipe longitudinal axis (L). The connection pipe () is connected to the connection element () in the area of the inner circumferential surface () by welding, or/and the connection pipe () projects with a centering section () on the connection side () of the connection element ().

Connection unit

A component for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes a component housing () elongated in the direction of a housing axis with an exhaust gas inlet () and with an exhaust gas outlet () and a carrier assembly unit () for connecting the component () to a carrier structure. The carrier assembly unit () includes a carrier rod (), the carrier rod () being fixed to the component housing () in at least two fastening areas () located at spaced locations from one another along the carrier rod (). The carrier assembly unit () has at least one carrier rod connection area () for connection to the carrier structure.

Component for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine

A mixer device for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes a tubular carrier () enclosing a mixer longitudinal axis (A) in a ring shape configuration and a mixer insert () carried at the carrier (). The mixer insert () has a plurality of connection attachments () located at spaced locations from one another in relation to the mixer longitudinal axis (A) radially on the outside. The carrier () has a plurality of connection recesses () for the permanent connection of the mixer insert () to the carrier ().

Mixer device

A mixer assembly unit, especially for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, includes a mixer body () with an incoming flow side () and with an outgoing flow side (); and a carrier element () with a carrier element body () enclosing the mixer body () radially on an outside in relation to a mixer longitudinal axis. The mixer body () includes a plurality of flow deflection elements () and at least one holding area (). The carrier element () includes a counter holding area () in association with a holding area (). The counter holding area () is connected in substance to the holding area (). The counter holding area () overlaps the holding area () at least partly radially on a side oriented in a direction of the outgoing flow side () of the mixer body ().

Mixer assembly unit

A mixer assembly unit, especially for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, includes a mixer body () with an incoming flow side () and with an outflow side () and with a plurality of flow deflection elements (). A carrier area () is provided radially outwards in relation to a mixer longitudinal axis (L) at the mixer body (). The carrier area () has an exhaust gas guide element connection area () for permanent connection to a preferably tubular exhaust gas guide element (). Radially outside of the exhaust gas guide element connection area (), a flange coupling section () couples with a flange coupling section () of another exhaust gas guide element ().

An exhaust system includes a mixer assembly unit () with a mixer body () with an incoming flow side () and with an outflow side () and with a plate shaped carrier element () with a radially outward carrier element body (). The mixer body includes a plurality of flow deflection elements () and a holding area (). The carrier element includes a counter-holding area () connected in substance to a holding area. The mixer assembly unit is arranged in a junction area of two tubular exhaust gas guide elements (). The exhaust gas guide elements include flange shaped coupling sections. The carrier element body is arranged between the flange shaped coupling sections of the exhaust gas guide elements. A coupling element engages the flange shaped coupling sections and extends over the coupling sections on axial sides oriented facing away from one another radially inwards.

Exhaust system and mixer assembly unit for an exhaust system

A process for manufacturing an exhaust system, especially for an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, includes providing an exhaust gas-guiding component () with a wall () made of a metallic material and providing a sensor-mounting connector (), to be fixed at the wall. The sensor-mounting connector includes a sensor-mounting area () to be positioned outside the exhaust gas-guiding component, and a connection area (), which is to be positioned such that the connection area meshes with the wall. The connection area is pressed against an outer surface () of the wall of the exhaust gas-guiding component in a fastening area () of the wall, and at the same time rotated about a longitudinal axis (A) of the connector to penetrate into the material forming the wall and a connection in substance is established between the metallic material of the wall and the metallic material of the sensor-mounting connector.

Process for manufacturing an exhaust system

An exhaust system, especially for an internal combustion engine in a vehicle, includes at least one sensor carrier unit () carried on an exhaust gas-carrying element (). The sensor carrier unit () includes a sensor carrier element () fixed to the exhaust gas-carrying element (). A plurality of sensor pipe connections (), that are fitted or can be fitted with sensors, are provided on the sensor carrier element (). The plurality of sensor pipe connections () each have at least one respective sensor-mounting/measuring opening () formed therein.

Exhaust system

An internal combustion engine exhaust system mixer includes a mixer body () with deflection elements () extending radially outwards from a mixer body center (). A ring-shaped carrier area () adjoins the mixer body radially on the outside and encloses a mixer longitudinal axis. The carrier area includes a mixer connection area () for connecting the mixer () to an exhaust system component. A pipe connection wall () adjoins the mixer connection area and has a wall inner surface (). A mixer body carrier wall () adjoins the mixer connection area, carries the mixer body, and is enclosed by the pipe connection wall. A first transition surface () adjoins the wall and is arched essentially continuously concavely between the wall inner surface and the wall outer surface, and axially defines a ring-shaped pipe-mounting intermediate space () between the pipe connection wall and the mixer body carrier wall.
