With respect to a vehicle mass air-flow sensor that includes a temperature sensor for measuring a temperature of a sensor element of the mass air-flow sensor, a method for controlling a heating element for heating the sensor element of a mass air-flow sensor includes identifying a dew formation on the sensor element by evaluating a temperature profile that is recorded during an operation of the vehicle using the temperature sensor, and generating a switch-on signal for switching on the heating element in response to the identification of the dew formation.

A sensor element is provided for detecting at least one property of a fluid medium. The sensor element comprises at least one housing having at least one inflow opening accessible to the fluid medium. At least one pressure sensor for detecting a pressure of the fluid medium is situated in the inflow opening. In the inflow opening in front of the pressure sensor, a plurality of ribs project from at least one wall of the inflow opening into the inflow opening.

A sensor element for recording at least one property of a fluid medium. The sensor element includes at least one housing that forms at least one wall of at least one flow channel that can be traversed by the flow of the fluid medium. In the wall, at least one pressure tap branches off from the flow channel. At least one pressure sensor for recording a pressure of the fluid medium is configured in the pressure tap. Provided in the wall is at least one outflow contour that at least partially surrounds an orifice of the pressure tap and is adapted for diverting impurities flowing along the wall away from the orifice of the pressure tap.
