A computing system is described that includes user interface components configured to receive typed user input; and one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to: receive, by a computing system and at a first time, a first portion of text typed by a user in an electronic message being edited; predict, based on the first portion of text, a first candidate portion of text to follow the first portion of text; output, for display, the predicted first candidate portion of text for optional selection to append to the first portion of text; determine, at a second time that is after the first time, that the electronic message is directed to a sensitive topic; and responsive to determining that the electronic message is directed to a sensitive topic, refrain from outputting subsequent candidate portions of text for optional selection to append to text in the electronic message.

Selective text prediction for electronic messaging

A mobile application is provided that provides intelligent recommendations based on the knowledge of where the user has been, and what venues the user would like to visit. Further, such an application may be capable of determining where people in a user's social network have been and what venue locations these related users would like to visit. Also, in another implementation, the application may be capable of determining where people with similar taste have been, and where they would like to go. Some or all of this information may be used by a mobile application that provides recommendations to a user. For instance, in one implementation, a user having a mobile device such as a cell phone wishes to locate a venue based on one or more parameters, and some or all of this information may be used to order to rank recommendations with the interface.

System and method for providing recommendations with a location-based service

A mobile application is provided that provides intelligent recommendations based on the knowledge of where the user has been, and what venues the user would like to visit. Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for identifying one or more second documents related to one or more first documents. Strength of relationship scores between candidate documents in a group of candidate documents and each first document are determined by aggregating user selection data for users, the user selection data indicating, for each user, whether the user viewed the candidate document during a window of time after the first document is presented to the user on a search results web page in response to a query. An aggregate strength of relationship score is calculated for each candidate document from the strength of relationship scores for the candidate document. Second documents are selected from the candidate documents according to the aggregate strength of relationship scores for the candidate documents.

Generating a related set of documents for an initial set of documents

A system facilitates the display of thumbnail images containing images of websites related to a website currently being viewed by a user. The system may include several different components to provide the thumbnail images to the user, such as a graphical user interface, an input interface, and a processor. The graphical user interface may display a website for viewing by a user and the input interface may receive an input representative of a request for a related website. The processor may transmit the request for the related website to a search engine, and, in response, the processor may obtain a search result representative of the related website. Moreover, the search result may include several components, such as a related website image representative of the related website and a uniform resource locator ('URL') representative of a location of the related website.
