A light fixture system includes a first light fixture that includes a first fixture wire harness coupled to a first electrical connector mounted to a first joiner. The first joiner is attached to the first light fixture. The light fixture system further includes a second light fixture that includes a second fixture wire harness coupled to a second electrical connector mounted to a second joiner. The second joiner is attached to the second light fixture. The first joiner and the second joiner are configured to slide towards each other and include at least one set screw to apply axial force between adjoining light fixtures to make electrical connection and tighten a joint between the first light fixture and the second light fixture.

Linear fixture electro-mechanical joining

Certain examples involve a circadian effect light fixture. The circadian effect light fixture includes a controller to receive a modifying factor based on a circadian impact profile. The modifying factor includes an indication of an intensity value, a correlated color temperature value, and a color value over a range of time. The circadian effect light fixture also includes a first lighting element controlled by the controller to produce a first light output having a first intensity, a first correlated color temperature, and a first color value. Further, the circadian effect light fixture includes a second lighting element controlled by the controller to produce a second light output having a second intensity, a second correlated color temperature, and a second color value. A combined light output of the first lighting element and the second lighting element tracks the modifying factor over the range of time.

Systems and methods to provide circadian impact

A lighting fixture, including a bus printed circuit board that receives power from an external source, may be configured with programmable drivers. The bus printed circuit board has mechanical features for receiving the programmable drivers to mechanically mount the programmable driver to the bus printed circuit board. Each programmable driver may have a set of spring contacts positioned to engage exposed pads of the bus printed circuit board when the programmable driver is mounted to the bus printed circuit board, to supply power to the programmable driver. The lighting fixture further includes one or more light sources driven by the programmable drivers.

Methods for configuring light fixtures with programmable drivers

Certain examples involve controlling a circadian impact of a lighting system. For instance, a lighting system includes a first lighting fixture. The first lighting fixture includes at least one lighting element to illuminate a first space and a first controller to control a first light output of the at least one lighting element. Additionally, the lighting system includes a first background circadian system that provides a first modifying factor to the first controller of the first lighting fixture. The first modifying factor is associated with a first circadian impact profile that specifies a first circadian impact level in the first space. Further, the first controller of the first lighting fixture controls the first light output based on the first modifying factor.

A lighting fixture includes a bus printed circuit board that receives power from an external source. The bus printed circuit board has traces that route the power to a set of exposed pads, and also has mechanical features for receiving an electronic device. The lighting fixture further includes a set of one or more drivers, having mechanical features for engaging the mechanical features of the bus printed circuit board to mechanically mount the driver to the bus printed circuit board. Each of the set of one or more drivers further includes a set of spring contacts positioned to engage at least some of the exposed pads of the bus printed circuit board when the driver is mounted to the bus printed circuit board, to supply power to the driver. The lighting fixture further includes one or more light sources driven by the one or more drivers.

Interconnection system for lighting fixtures

A lighting system includes first and second component housed within respective first and second housings, and a connector. The first housing defines a first substantially rectangular cross-section that extends from a first end to a second end. The first component is capable of emitting light. The second housing defines a second substantially rectangular cross-section. The second substantially rectangular cross-section extends from a third end to a fourth end. The connector connects the second end with the third end. The connector defines a third substantially rectangular cross-section that is substantially identical to the first and second substantially rectangular cross-sections. The third substantially rectangular cross-section extends along a path from the second end to the third end. The path includes at least one curve of at least fifteen degrees between the second end and the third end, and/or, the substantially rectangular cross-section rotates at least fifteen degrees about the path.

Lighting system with curving or twisting modular housing

A lighting fixture may provide a proximal lighting effect and a distal lighting effect. In some cases, the lighting fixture may include a multi-channel driver and multiple groups of LEDs. Based on an adjustable input level, the driver may provide current to subgroups of the LEDs, arranged at various areas of the lighting fixture. Responsive to the level of the input, the driver may provide current to various LED subgroups at the various areas, such that a particular proximal effect is provided at a particular area of the lighting fixture based on the particular value of the input level. In addition, the distal lighting effect may have a stable value across the adjustments to the input level, and the corresponding adjustments to the proximal effects. The distal effect may be perceivable at a location remote from the lighting fixture, such as a work surface.

Lighting fixture configured to provide multiple lighting effects

A heat sink comprising pin fins extending from a base plate of the heatsink. Some of the pin fins are angled outwardly towards an outer edge of the base plate such that the tips of some of the pin fins may extend beyond the outer edge of the base plate. The distance the outer pin fins extend beyond the outer edge of the base plate can correspond to a maximum diameter of the heatsink. The maximum diameter of the heatsink can be greater than the diameter of the base plate of the heatsink.

A system allows a light fixture to have a wider range of color temperatures (CCT) while limiting the warmest temperature reached at full intensity. The CCT of the light output may be controlled independently of intensity across a certain range of CCT and dependent on intensity across another range. In an implementation, both intensity and CCT may be adjusted from a single handle, where the interface positions may be divided into multiple zones. In another implementation, intensity may be adjusted from a first handle, while CCT may be adjusted from a second handle. The CCT of the light output may be limited to cooler levels when the intensity is higher, and/or the intensity of the light may be limited to lower levels when the CCT is warmer.
