Mowing characteristics of a mowing operation are detected. The mowing characteristics indicate that the mower is engaged and also whether a merger component is engaged. A center line of a windrow is identified based upon a location of the mower and the mowing characteristics. An action signal is generated based upon the center line of the mower.

Windrow center line detection for mapping and controlling operation

An agricultural machine includes a controller disposed in communication with a work implement, an output, and an input. Left and right float cylinders are attached to and interconnected with a frame and left and right connecting arms. A desired operating condition from a plurality of predefined settings is then solicited from an operator via the input, wherein the desired operating condition corresponds to a designated pressure setting of the left and right float cylinders. The work implement is operated in a float mode of operation and then commanded to a raised position. The controller automatically determines a maximum pressure and a position that the maximum pressure corresponds to for the left and right float cylinders. The controller automatically modifies the designated pressure setting of the left and right float cylinders in the database based on the maximum pressure and position for each of the left and right float cylinders.

Pressure to hold or raise the head for a work implement

One or more information maps are obtained by an agricultural system. The one or more information maps map one or more characteristic values at different geographic locations in a worksite. An in-situ sensor detects a mass flow value as a mobile machine operates at the worksite. A predictive map generator generates a predictive map that maps predictive mass flow values or predictive yield values at different geographic locations in the worksite based on a relationship between the values in the one or more information maps and the mass flow value detected by the in-situ sensor or the yield value based on the detected mass flow value. The predictive map can be output and used in automated machine control.

Map based farming for windrower operation

An in-situ sensor detects tractive characteristic values as a mobile agricultural machine operates at the worksite. A predictive map generator generates a predictive map that maps predictive tractive characteristic values at different geographic locations in the worksite based on a relationship between values of the characteristic in the information map and tractive characteristic values detected by the in-situ sensor. The predictive map can be output and used in automated machine control.

Systems and methods for predictive tractive characteristics and control

The height of a header of a self-propelled harvesting machine is controlled by a closed loop header position control system. A sensitivity control system receives parameters related to header position error (e.g., an accuracy parameter) and machine stability (e.g., a stability parameter) and automatically identifies a sensitivity metric indicative of a sensitivity with which the header position control system controls the header height, based upon the received parameters. The sensitivity metric is provided to the header position control system. The header position control system performs closed loop header position control with a sensitivity level based upon the sensitivity metric provided by the sensitivity control system.

Header position control with dynamically adapted sensitivity

A header has a position controlled gauge wheel that is controlled using a position actuator. The position actuator is locked when the gauge wheel is in a selected position, relative to a mainframe of the header. An operator input, changing the position of the header, is detected and the position actuator is unlocked to accommodate movement of the header, based on the detected operator input signal.

A harvesting head for an agricultural combine includes a frame and a support arm coupled to the frame. The support arm is configured to move between an unlocked state in which the support arm is moveable relative to the frame and a locked state in which the support arm is fixed relative to the frame. The harvesting head includes cutting teeth supported by the support arm relative to the frame. The cutting teeth are configured to move relative to the support arm in a reciprocating motion along a longitudinal axis of the frame. The harvesting head includes a gauge member coupled to the frame. The gauge member is configured to sense a height of the frame relative to a surface. The harvesting head includes a control assembly configured to move the support arm into the locked state based on the height of the frame relative to the surface.

A system for a header assembly that has a center frame configured to pivot relative to an adapter frame about at least one center axis, a center actuator coupled to the center frame to selectively provide a biasing force thereto, a first arm assembly configured to pivot relative to the center frame about at least a first arm axis, a first actuator coupled to the first arm assembly to selectively provide a biasing force thereto, a controller in communication with the center actuator and the first actuator to selectively alter performance characteristics of the center actuator and the first actuator, and a user interface in communication with the controller and having at least a first option and a second option. Wherein, the controller adjusts the performance characteristics of both the center actuator and the first actuator when the user interface is transitioned between the first option and the second option.

Float adjustment

A harvesting platform includes a first section and extends along a first section plane that is substantially parallel to a ground surface along which the harvesting platform moves with a combine. A second section is connected to the first side of the first section, and rotates with respect to the first section within a range of angular positions. A locking mechanism retains the second section in a position with respect to the first section while activated, and permits movement of the second section with respect to the first section while deactivated. A controller receives a first signal indicative of the position, and sends a second signal to deactivate the locking mechanism in response to the position being at a positive non-parallel angle with respect to the first section plane. The second section moves toward the first section plane in response to gravity while the locking mechanism is deactivated.

An agricultural harvesting machine includes a header, a feederhouse and a draper belt configured to transport agricultural material to the feederhouse of the agricultural harvesting machine. The agricultural harvesting machine also includes a motor configured to drive the draper belt and a draper belt control system configured to determine a distribution of crop across the header of the agricultural harvesting machine and, based on the distribution of crop, generate a control signal for the motor to modify an operating characteristic of the draper belt.

In a draper harvesting head having a frame, a left side conveyor supported on the frame, a right side conveyor supported on the frame, a central conveyor supported on the frame and disposed between the left side conveyor and the right side conveyor, and a reciprocating knife fixed to the front of the frame and extending laterally across the frame, a method of controlling slippage between an endless conveyor belt of one of the left side conveyor and the right side conveyor and a crop mat carried on the endless conveyor belt is provided, including determining a speed of the endless conveyor belt and a speed of the crop mat; comparing a difference in the speed of the endless conveyor belt and the speed of the crop mat with a first threshold speed difference; and changing the speed of the endless conveyor belt based upon the step of comparing.

A float arm support system may include a float arm supporting an active member, the float arm being pivotable about a first axis, a skid shoe to bear against and follow local ground contours of the underlying terrain while supporting the active member of the float arm above the underlying terrain and a powered actuator. The skid shoe may be coupled to the float arm between the first axis and the active member. The powered actuator may be operably coupled to the skid shoe to vertically move the skid shoe to adjust a spacing at which the skid shoe supports the active member of the float arm relative to the underlying terrain.
