Various method, system, and computer program product embodiments for facilitating upgrades in a computing storage environment are provided. In one such embodiment, one of an available plurality of rolling upgrade policies is defined by specifying the at least one selectable upgrade parameter, including specifying one of a commencement time and duration of an upgrade procedure. A node down tolerance factor is set for at least one node in the computing storage environment. A determination of whether a number of at least one of a plurality of nodes in the computing storage environment currently down, including a target node to be upgraded, does not exceed the node down tolerance factor, and if the node down tolerance factor is not exceeded, a cluster health is checked.

Intelligent rolling upgrade for data storage systems

Various method, system, and computer program product embodiments for facilitating upgrades in a computing storage environment are provided. In one such embodiment, one of an available plurality of rolling upgrade policies is defined by specifying the at least one selectable upgrade parameter, including specifying one of a commencement time and duration of an upgrade procedure. A node down tolerance factor is set for at least one node in the computing storage environment. The node down tolerance factor specifies a percentage of elements of the at least one node taken offline to apply the selected one of the available plurality of rolling upgrade policies during the upgrade window.

Provided are a computer program product, system, and method for selecting one of a plurality of scanner nodes to perform scan operations for an interface node receiving a file request. A list includes a plurality of scanner nodes in a network and for each scanner node a performance value. One of the scanner nodes in the list is selected based on the performance values of the scanner nodes and the file is transmitted to the selected scanner node to perform a scan operation with respect to the file. Indication is received from the selected scanner node performing the scan operation whether a subset of code in the file matches code in a definition set. The file request is processed to result in execution of the file request based on the indication of whether the subset of code in the file matches a definition in the definition set.
