Devices, systems and techniques are provided to facilitate chronic monitoring of biological signals. An implant device can include a set of branch portions. Each branch portion can include multiple electrodes disposed on a bottom surface and can have vias that connect the electrode to a trace on the top of the branch portion. Each branch portion can include a hole through which a connector (e.g., suture) can be pulled. The connector can also be threaded through a hole in a curved arm of an implantation tool, To implant the implant device, the implantation tool can be inserted through an incision, moved to a target location and stabilized. An end of the connector can then be pulled, which can cause the implant device to move to the target location. The implant device can then be stabilized and the implantation tool explanted.

Thin-film high-density sensing array, sub-scalp implantation tool and implant method

The present disclosure relates to connectors for high density neural interfaces and methods of microfabricating the connectors. Particularly, aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a connector having a core and a supporting structure wrapped around at least a portion of the core. The supporting structure may have a first layer of a high temperature liquid crystal polymer, and the second layer of a low temperature liquid crystal polymer that is reflowed to attach the supporting structure to the core. Conductive traces are buried between the first layer and the second layer, and the conductive traces terminate at conductive contacts formed on a surface of the first layer. The connector may have a predetermined shape or profile, which facilitates alignment and insertion of the connector into a header of a neurostimulator.

Connectors for high density neural interfaces

The present disclosure relates to laparoscopic surgery, and in particular to laparoscopic ports for facilitating the implant of medical systems such as a neuromodulation system into the body of a patient. Particularly, aspects are directed to a cannula assembly having a cannula housing and a cannula sleeve comprising a sleeve body extending from a distal end of the cannula housing. The cannula sleeve has a semi-rectangular cross section including: (i) a rounded rectangular portion configured to accommodate feeding the neuromodulation system through the cannula assembly, and (ii) a circular portion configured to accommodate insertion of the one or more surgical instruments through the cannula assembly.

Surgical laparoscopic ports for implanting medical systems

The present disclosure relates to mapping catheters, and in particular to mapping catheters having thin film electrodes used in sensing electrical activity within a patient. Particularly, aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a medical device having a hollow core, a balloon disposed over at least a portion of the hollow core, and a flexible framework having one or more thin film elements formed on at least a portion of the balloon. The one or more thin film elements comprise a plurality of mapping electrodes.

The present disclosure relates to devices and methods for partly isolating a target biological structure. The device may include a main body comprising a front face and a rear face, the main body having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end may be arcuate in a first state and may be substantially planar in a second state. The device may further include one or more balloons disposed on the distal end of the main body. Each of the one or more balloons is deflated in the first state and each of the one or more balloons is inflated in the second state. The distal end of the main body is configured to deform to be substantially planar when each of the one or more balloons are inflated in the second state.

Devices and methods for partly isolating a target biological structure

The present disclosure relates to connectors for high density neural interfaces and methods of microfabricating the connectors. Particularly, aspects of the present disclosure are directed to a connector having a main body, a first plug extending from the main body, a flexible bridge extending from the main body or the first plug, and a second plug extending from the flexible bridge. This structure allows for the main body, the first plug, and the second plug to be arranged in tandem on a longitudinal axis of the main body, which enables the connector to be passed through a narrow diameter cannula. This structure also allows for the first plug and the second plug to be arranged in a spread out orientation, which enables the connector to be electrically connected with a neurostimulator.

An implant insertion system and methods of use of the implant insertion system are disclosed. The implant insertion system includes an implant and an instrument configured to deliver the implant to a biological structure and assist in deploying the implant to the biological structure. The instrument includes a retention member the secures the implant to the instrument and retains the implant in a first configuration. The retention member is movable to decouple the implant from the instrument. The implant is configured to transition from the first configuration to a second configuration, such that in the second configuration the implant is secured to the biological structure.

Systems and methods configured to deploy cuffs onto biological structures

An apparatus for measuring a performance metric of a heart includes a housing, a tactile sensor, a finger clamp, a linear actuator, and a controller. The tactile sensor measures blood pressure pulsatility in a digital artery of a finger via applanation tonometry and outputs pulsatility signals indicative of the blood pressure pulsatility. The finger clamp extends from the housing to clamp the finger against the tactile sensor with the digital artery aligned over the tactile sensor. The linear actuator drives the finger clamp with a clamping force directed along a linear path. The controller is coupled to the tactile sensor and the linear actuator to control the clamping force and to generate pulsatility data, based upon the pulsatility signals, from which the performance metric of the heart may be determined.

An access device places a medical article within a body space of a patient. The device has a needle section that includes an elongated body and a needle hub. The device further includes a dilator portion that has a dilator and a dilator hub. The dilator is coaxially disposed and slideable over the elongated body of the needle section. The device further includes a sheath section that has a sheath and a sheath hub. The sheath is coaxially disposed and slideable over the dilator. The device further includes a first locking mechanism operably disposed between the needle hub and the dilator hub to inhibit at least unintentional axial movement between the needle section and the dilator portion and a second locking mechanism operably disposed between the dilator hub and the sheath hub to inhibit at least unintentional axial movement between the dilator portion and the sheath section.
