The present invention provides an apparatus for detection of ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) in a patient, the apparatus comprising: an endotracheal tube; at least two non-selective electrode contacts located in proximity to each other within the endotracheal tube, the contacts lacking any structural feature or component that particularly recognizes a chemical or biological species; an electrical subsystem that is capable of generating, receiving and processing electrical signals; wiring for connecting each of the electrode contacts with the electrical subsystem; and tubing for insulating the wiring from any sputum material that is introduced into the endotracheal tube by the patient.

Apparatus and method for early detection of ventilator associated pneumonia

A method, a system, and an article are provided for identification of security-related activities based on usage of a plurality of independent cloud-based, hosted application platforms. Systems and techniques for guiding a response to a cybersecurity incident

A security client can be configured to operate on the one or more computing systems and record all events occurring on the one or more computing systems. The security client can operate as a 'security camera' for the computing systems by identifying and retaining data and information that describes and details different events that occur on the computing systems. The security client can be configured to generate event records for the events that are uniquely associated with the process that requested or performed event. Likewise, the security client can be configured to uniquely associate the event records with the specific computing system associated with the event.

Systems and methods for tracking and recording events in a network of computing systems

Behavioral baselines for a computer system may be accurately and efficiently established by (1) monitoring occurrences on the computer system, (2) determining, based on security rules or heuristics, which of the observed occurrences are associated with potential security risks, (3) identifying patterns of activity based on the suspicious occurrences, and (4) prompting a user to indicate whether the observed patterns of suspicious activity are expected or unexpected. Behavior baselines established in this manner can then be used to differentiate between expected and unexpected patterns of activity on the computer system.
