A handle assembly for a cleaning appliance such as a vacuum cleaner includes a flexible hose having a first end that is connectable to a main body of the cleaning appliance and a second end, a handle portion for maneuvering the handle assembly during use and a tubular wand. The second end of the flexible hose is connected to the handle portion, and the tubular wand is slidably mounted in the handle portion so as to be movable between a first position in which the tubular wand extends beyond the handle portion inside the flexible hose and a second position in which the tubular wand extends beyond the handle portion away from the flexible hose.

Handle assembly for a cleaning appliance

An apparatus with a main unit, a dispenser, a clamp and a clamp structure. The main unit includes a housing, a battery in the housing, a motor in the housing and connected to the battery, and an output drive shaft driven by the motor. The dispenser includes a body that defines a body aperture and which has a reservoir for storing a fluid, and a nozzle in fluid communication with the reservoir. The dispenser is configured to permit the stored fluid to be dispensed from the reservoir through the nozzle. The clamp is coupled to either the main unit or the dispenser and includes a pivotable engagement member. The clamp structure is coupled to the other one of the main unit and the dispenser and includes a second engagement member that can be releasably engaged to the engagement member. The housing is received through the body aperture.

Scrubbing device

A separating apparatus includes a shroud that has a wall having a multiplicity of through-holes. At least one baffle is provided on the inner surface of the wall of the shroud. The baffle directs the airflow entering the shroud towards the central region of the shroud, thereby reducing conflicting air currents. The baffle may also be used to assist correct assembly of the separating apparatus. The baffle may be arranged to locate with a member provided on another component of the separating apparatus, such as a cyclone assembly, in order to locate that assembly in a predetermined orientation.

Separating apparatus

A separating apparatus includes a separating chamber in which cyclonic separation is able to take place, an inlet to the separating chamber and a shroud that includes a wall having a multiplicity of through-holes forming an outlet from the separating chamber and also includes a lip extending from the wall into the separating chamber, the lip having has a plurality of apertures therethrough. The provision of apertures in the depending lip allows the airflow to be drawn through the apertures while it is still in the separating chamber. This has the effect of capturing some of the dirt and dust which remains entrained within the airflow so that it collects on the upstream side of the lip. Thus the shroud through-holes are presented with less entrained dirt and dust and the risk of the through-holes becoming blocked is reduced.

Cyclonic separating apparatus

A twin level assembly including two levels, wherein one of the two levels also contains an indicating device for performing a separate function, is disclosed. The twin level assembly comprises a first level and a second level that is selectively receivable into the first level through an opening in an end cap and into a receptacle of the first level. The second level is held in the first level by a retention mechanism. The first level and the second level each have at least one bubble vial for visually displaying level indications, while the indicating device in the second level is a type of stud sensor, laser pointer, metal detector, wire detector, or a sonic measurement device.
