A sacrificial anode for use with a meter is provided. The sacrificial anode comprising an anode body including one or more anodic metals, the anode body being configured to be positioned in a problem area of the meter including a cathodic metal, such that the anode body corrodes in place of the cathodic metal of the problem area preserving the cathodic metal. Related meters and systems are also provided.

An ultrasonic meter configured to operate in multiple classes is provided including a flowtube having an inlet at a first end and an outlet at a second end, opposite the first end; and first and second face to face transducers, the first transducer being positioned at the first end of the flowtube and the second transducer being positioned at the second end of the flowtube, wherein the first and second face to face transducers are positioned in line with flow through the ultrasonic meter. A vortex generator for use in a flowtube of a meter is provided. The vortex generator includes a plurality of raised elements on an inner surface of a flowtube. The plurality of raised elements are positioned on the inner surface of the flowtube upstream of a widening of the flowtube. The presence of the plurality of raised elements improves boundary layer adherence.

A potting cup is provided and is positioned on a printed circuit board. The potting cup encapsulates a portion of the printed circuit board including at least one interface subject to corrosion when exposed to moisture and is configured to receive a potting material in the encapsulated portion to cover the at least one interface subject to corrosion.

An internal explosion engine, having a vessel with an interior space and inlets and outlets for respectively introducing fluid into said space at relatively low pressure and removing said fluid from said space at relatively high pressure; an electric discharge explosion in situ sparking device having spaced electric discharge elements that are disposed in said space, said discharge sparking device further including an applied electrical potential of opposite polarities to said discharge elements, a fluid reservoir for holding said fluid, and a drive adapted to be driven by the pressurized fluid to do work; wherein said electrical discharge device is adapted to explode in said fluid, said exploded fluid expanding in volume to increase the internal pressure in said system, to provide said pressurized fluid whereby said drive is driven by said increased internal pressure.
