The disclosure relates to the cyanocarbon compositions and processes for producing the same. The cyanocarbon compositions comprise tricyanohexane and one or more coproducts of the tricyanohexane production reaction. Exemplary coproducts include tetracyano compounds, cyanoalkenes, cyanooximes, cyanoamides, and combinations thereof.

Cyanocarbon compositions

A method of removing from a surface a solid sulfur-containing impurity composition comprising a sulfur-containing compound, the method comprising the step of dissolving sulfur-containing compound in the sulfur-containing impurity composition with a nitrile compound to form a treated sulfur-containing impurity composition comprising less than 99.5 wt % sulfur-containing compound, based on the total weight of the treated sulfur-containing impurity composition.

Nitrile solvents

An electrolyte solution comprising an ionic component, a base solvent, and an additive package. The additive package comprises a trinitrile compound and a cyclic carbonate. The electrolyte solution comprises symmetric linear carbonate in an amount greater than 19 wt %, based on the total weight of the electrolyte solution.

Electrolyte solutions

The present disclosure relates generally to processes for recovering tricyanohexane (TCH) via purification of by-product or co-product streams of adiponitrile production. In particular, the present disclosure relates to a process for purifying tricyanohexane (TCH), the process having the steps of (a) separating an adiponitrile process stream comprising adiponitrile and TCH to form a first overhead lights stream comprising low-boiling components and high-boiling components and a first bottoms heavies stream comprising high-boiling components and solid impurities; and (b) separating the first overhead lights stream in a distillation column to form a second overhead lights stream comprising low-boiling components, a second bottoms heavies stream comprising high-boiling components, and a TCH stream comprising TCH and less than 10 wt. % impurities; wherein the distillation column is a low pressure distillation column.

Tricyanohexane purification methods

Corrosion inhibitor compositions for reducing the corrosive effect of acidic environments on metallic substrates are provided herein. In particular, the present disclosure describes corrosion inhibitor compositions comprising a condensation product of a trifunctional amine and a fatty acid. The present disclosure also describes methods of preparing and of using such corrosion inhibitor compositions.
