A mobile communication network system comprising a core network including a core device and at least one static base station; base stations; and Mobile stations communicating via antennae with the base stations; The base stations including at least one moving base station which communicates via antennae with the mobile stations and has a physical e.g. Ethernet back-connection to a co-located radio manager having a physical connection with a co-located mobile station communicating via antennae with at least one selectable static base station, wherein each individual co-located radio manager comprises a radio resource manager; and functionality for receiving information from, and sending information to, other respectively co-located radio managers regarding qualities of their respective connections back to the core network, quality of its own connection back to the core network and channel quality which other base stations are able to provide and which its own base station is able to provide, to mobile stations in the vicinity of the individual co-located radio manager, and for using the information to determine whether to reject at least one mobile station seeking to be served by an individual base station associated with said individual co-located radio manager.

Cellular communication system with moving base stations and methods and apparatus useful in conjunction therewith

A method for converting a conventional cellular network e.g. having nodes equipped with conventional modems operating in accordance with a cellular communication protocol e.g. LTE and storing first orthogonal sequences, into a private cellular network, including coupling an (e.g. external) device to only nodes sought for the private cellular network, the device storing second orthogonal sequences not hard-coded in the modems, the device storing a one-to-one correspondence enabling translation of each second orthogonal sequence, to one of the first sequences. at least when in a private network supporting mode, a device associated with a transmitting node sought for the private network, uses a processor to determine which first orthogonal sequence is being used, translate that sequence using the one-to-one correspondence into a second orthogonal sequence, and use the translated sequence to transmit a synchronization signal.

System, method and computer program product for establishing a private cellular network

A mobile communication network system operative in conjunction with a core network including a core device and at least one static base station includes a plurality of base stations. The system further includes a population of mobile stations communicating via antennae with the base stations. The base stations include at least one moving base station which communicates via antennae with the mobile stations and includes base station functionality and a first radio manager and mobile station functionality all co-located with the base station functionality. The base station functionality has a physical back-connection to the first radio manager. The first radio manager has a physical connection with the mobile station functionality. The mobile station functionality communicates via antennae with at least one selectable static base station. The information used to determine whether to reject includes the location of the moving base station and statistics regarding measurements of link quality.

A hierarchical cellular network system having a core and comprising a plurality of nodes, wherein at least one node comprises a relay; and wherein at least one relay includes: a tunneling sub-system; a backhauling link subsystem interfacing between the tunneling subsystem and a node which is closer to the core than the relay; and a base station subsystem, interfacing between the tunneling subsystem and a mobile station or a node which is further from the core than the relay, wherein the tunneling subsystem is operative to perform the following, on data arriving from a base station subsystem belonging to another node from among the plurality of nodes: collecting the data; and encapsulating the results to be sent in an individual session into packets and sending the packets to the Backhauling Link Subsystem.

Architecture and methods for traffic management by tunneling in hierarchical cellular networks

A mobile communication network system operative in conjunction with a network includes a core device, a plurality of base stations including at least one static base station, and a population of mobile stations communicating via antennae with at least one of the base stations. The system includes at least one moving base station included in the plurality of base stations which communicates via antennae with the mobile stations and includes base station functionality, a first radio manager and mobile station functionality all co-located with the base station functionality. The base station functionality has a physical back-connection to the first radio manager. The mobile station functionality communicates via antennae with at least one selectable base station. The plurality of routes of base stations via which the individual moving base station can communicate with the core network includes at least one route characterized by multi-hop backhauling.

The present invention provides a method for intercepting and monitoring of cellular satellite communication wherein communication between at least one mobile device (MES) and the satellite is through a first band link that includes plurality of first-band spot beams each accommodating at least one basic channel unit that includes a control channel and corresponding traffic channels, and communication between the satellite and main station is through wideband second-band link accommodating plurality of second band spot beams each accommodating at least one basic channel unit that includes a control channel and corresponding traffic channels, the method comprising detecting map between a control channel of the downlink first band link and corresponding control channel of downlink second band link by identifying identical unique spot beam number (SB Mask) data in the respective control channels.
